Epiphany
So I'm in bed this morning providing myself with a lot of self talk and a new script regarding food. When suddenly it dawns on me that there are a lot of foods that I have stopped eating over the years for various reason that I don't miss or ever think about. Many from childhood that I just don't have a taste for and others that somewhere in the last 5-15 years I made a conscious effort to forgo. These choices were made long before I heard of RAW vegan as a way of eating. So to name a few:
boxed junk cereal
Vit D milk
ox tails
egg noodles
ramen noodles
sardines
hot dogs
brussel sprouts
creamed corn
pork rinds, actually pork of any kind
crappy sliced loaf bread
overcooked veggies in general
So with this realization I'm thinking that surely there are more SAD foods that will one day be food of the past for me and that the good old stand by items don't have to be lamented at all I can just acknowledge that I have evolved.
Yet my mind still considers that there have got to be cooked items that many consider "healthy" where a RAW equivalent doesn't exist. Like:
baked yams
pumpkin soup
lentils
eggplant (other than dehydrated eggplant bacon)
bean soups
Hmmm. I guess you can sprout most beans but what about lentils? Do folks eat yams or pumkin raw? I love pumkin soup loaded with scotch bonnet peppers and curry.
Still trying to wrap my mind around forgoing the warmth of food. The warmth I enjoy can't be replaced with just hot spices and pepper. But then again it's suppose to be my fuel not my enjoyment.
So today is day one and I will take each week as they come with 100% RAW VEGAN as my intention.
