full moon nights RAWK!

Rate this Entry
Aloha everyone! It's already been a rawkin Rawesome day. We did spend the night on the land last night -- and watched the moonrise over the ocean. How beautiful. I'm thinkin - when we do build the healing center - the first workshop will have to be during the full moon - so that you all can share that experience with me (yes, I'm assuming you will all be visiting me! )

the moon rise has such subtle colors - and the shimmer of the moon glow on the ocean is so magical. Like silver slivers of light dancing on the ocean... a thousand magickal faeries fluttering their wings as the moon beams flash wildly from wing tip to wing tip....

as you are entranced by the dancing light - the faint scent of exotic flowers and gardenias gently surrounds you. You see - this is my favorite flower and very sacred among the Hawaiians - so dh has planted many MANY gardenia bushes around our house site! The scent is heady and balmy -- so tropical and it wisks you away to a sacred space filled with love and gentle tradewinds...

we watched the moon and listened to the waterfall singing softly of the days gone past... of our ancestors... of the children that once played in it's waters, of the love of the land for it's people...

it was truly lovely.

and on very special full moon nights - we are visited by a gentle shower of rain...

on those nights if you look carefully you will see what we call....
Mahina Anue... or 'MoonBow..' a night rainbow. A very amazing and very rare sight. The colors are soft and muted... purples and hazy turquoise, pinks barely shimmering in the night sky... you almost think you're seeing things... but it's there... a rainbow - but by moonlight....

wow!

We are taught that our ancestors use the night rainbow as a bridge of sorts - to travel between worlds.

it was a lovely night...

THEN -- this morning - I headed out to work back up the coast. I'm tellin ya... Hawaii is truly paradise. I started my day out by watching the sunrise over the ocean....

the sun was GLORIOUS - and it was SHOUTING LOUDLY --- RAW RAWKS!! to anyone that would listen! The colors were BOLD - BRIGHT and RAWSOME!!

plus I ate a truly wonderful pear on the way to work! it was absolutely delicious!! ;)

b4 I forget - LisaS -- the taco meat recipe is in my blogs - check page 3 - dated may 11, it says - 'Recipe for Spicy Tacos'... it's also in the RFT thread on recipes - that's where I found it! It is INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS!

and - Gwena I'm wondering first off- which Island the workshop was on for the lomilomi session - my papa gives workshops all the time. But you will definitely know when we're having them here on the land too! Bring Melly!! he can demonstrate his crazy exercises!! ;)

Also about my quitting smoking and drinking and going raw all at once... it made no sense to (and believe me I thought about every which way I could to keep smoking for a while!!) but - it made no sense to go raw - clean up my insides while still smoking... sigh... just didn't make sense... so smoking HAD to go... and drinking was making me puffy and stupid... so that had to go... and I had to do it all at once cuz if I didn't... well....

I'm the kinda person that would 'say' I could transition - but then will spiral out and knock you outta the way to get to that pizza and beer --lol!! So - it was all or nothing - get serious - or get off the train... (or as dh would say -- 'sh** or get off the pot!') soo lovely a visual!! (lol - and that after that description of my lovely evening!! lol!!)

and Princess... I will start posting what I'm eating in a day. I need to get serious about June. I think I just cruised too much thru may - and ate here and there and didn't pay attention to my fats and stuff... but I dunno about anyone else -- but I feel something AMAZING is going to happen in June. I'm really excited for JUNE.

so far today... I've eaten
1 pear
1 lara bar
taco meat (walnuts) with celery sticks {oopss kinda ate alot of this! }
grapefruit

and drinking -- water -water - water!!!

RAWK ON EVERYONE!! HAVE A RAWSOME DAY!!

and not too sure what I'm gunna have for dinner yet.

I am so happy to see what you are eating. Inspires me. DEFINITELY COUNT ME AND THE PRINCE IN FOR HAWAII!!! Tell me when, and I will plan for it. Are you definitely building a healing center?? That is soooo great. I will definitely be there. We have a healing center here in Wisconsin, but it's for miracles, not raw food (altho everyone here if vegetarian, smoke-free & alcohol free!!) Just like you!!

Look at me, all postin' & everything! Healing center??? I have to catch up. Sounds like exactly what tigger needs. You make my heart ache for a sunrise and sunset. Have not seen one of those in a LONG time. I have planted moonflowers all round my terrace and patio in hopes of sitting under the moon (swatting mosquitoes) this summer and fall. You are an amazing woman, Star.;)

Second, I'm so sure the class I was wanting to take wasn't from your father as the couple who was giving it weren't locals. Third, when you open your retreat place We're soooo there!!!! I'll make Melly Mel bring the foam roller!

I want to be in Hawaii too!!! Everything you decribed sounds sooooo amazing. I've never felt a tradewind. What's a tradewind? Why can we get tradewinds in Chicago. Just kidding. But really, what's a tradewind?

You know, you're one of those lucky folks who find raw and it's just made for them. There are a bunch of you here in Chicago who embrace raw and it comes so naturally to them. No huge struggles, you love the food, you feel great, and the weight just falls off. You suck! Just kidding again. You're awesome!!! And, it's great to see someone who falls so wonderfully into this lifestyle.

One thing I do have to share is that you've had such a great mindset about all of this from the beginning. You weren't wigging out about weight, you have so much fun with raw, and I've yet to read of you stressing out about it. Three key things to being successful with this lifestyle, and you've done them all. What a lovely example you are.
