After some thought, dreaming, daydreaming, etc...I realized I am ready to quit the dairy, which by association means quitting dairy forms of chocolate. I have phased almost all of it out anyway. I need to do this since, as much as going gluten free helped my endometriosis, I know it is still an issue, still causes me pain and I know full well that I can reverse this pretty serious problem. Dairy free is therefore my next 'thing' I need to do.
I'm also going to count calories and I'm going to start tomorrow. I don't care anymore about all my excuses and waiting for perfect circumstances and so on and so on. I would 'just go raw' but I know, honestly from experience, that I can overeat and overeat fatty foods on raw very easily and stall or even gain weight. I am too smart for the system, lol. I need accountability and counting will give me that and I am well experienced in it and living dairy free, so the learning curve is not an issue.
And I already know what my next 'thing' will be...and that will be to quit starchy foods such as rice and potatoes. According to internetland they are heavy on the system and lead to sweating problems. I don't know if this is true or not, so I will save it and just do what I Know needs to be done for my health and sanity right now....counting and dairy quitting.
I also intend on consciously choosing to eat 2 pieces of fruit a day and a salad a day. Research shows this to be extremely beneficial for endometriosis as well....no duh, right? lol...but I need to think in terms of my health and be motivated by it, because I know that's the motivation that is most likely to sustain these changes.
I am SO HAPPY to finally be ready for new change. Six months ago I quit gluten (not for the first time) and I will never, ever go back because I now strongly associate it to pain...I know that my system is so happy without it that any tiny infraction will virtually bed-ridden me for two days. And I just don't have time for that kinda nonsense...YOLO
...but I feel like six months later, I am finally undoubtedly ready to take on another major step. Even though it is three (dairy + cal counting + fruit and salad eating), it's ok because if I have to wait six months to do either of the later two, I...well...I simply see no point in waiting....they are very different entities. One is quitting, one is being more conscious and one is adding in. No need to wait. Different projects :)
I will check back in here and there, see if Shelshel makes an appearance, I am always interested in her recipes and her progress, etc. I will be counting over at sparkpeople, and they have a strong workout community and little exercises that you can start on and stuff, so it's geared to my weight loss in more ways than one. I need to lose weight for the endo as well as for general health since fat gives off estrogen and endo is an estrogen based disease.
When I have more time, I hope to read this book I have, the pH miracle diet...have any of you ever read it or heard of it?
