Workbooks ++

Hey Everyone,

I am finished my courses and just in placement now, so thought I would work on my eating issues. Actually I am currently getting some counselling for anxiety and as it turns out she also does work with disordered eating. She passed me this link and I have to work through the workbooks...you don't Need to supplement that with counselling according to the books, but I have the convenience of being able to do that. ...but I just wanted to share the link with you all in case you are interested. For me, I have a bingeing tendancy and so far it's really proving insightful. I am only on Module 4, and on my first day of filling out the self-monitoring sheet, but already I know this will be a good thing for me to do.

...plus my counsellor says they are really good and people have a lot of success with them.

Anyways, re raw, I have decided that now that I have the time to spend on so much else in my life other than school, that I will start whipping up some raw recipes! I am not going to force myself to go raw because I have lower levels of stress, because actually I am kinda done with stressing myself out, lol. But I do love raw foods and recipes and would like to be high raw. I have decided that I don't want to be ALL raw...although I recognize that some people want to be all raw, and do very well at it, and it wouldn't be considered disordered eating, for me...it's an all or nothing mentality, ...and very intertwined with my particular brand of disordered eating. Sooo, for now I am only going to just keep trying recipes for fun and in the process try and increase my 'raw food bank' ...as in recipes and combos of raw food that feel good, taste good, etc. As much experience as I have with raw, I feel like I would be best served just playing at this point.

Because this is a board with an all-raw aim, and that is clearly not my aim...and I just get frustrated trying to build a sense of community in the threads because of it, I am going to just stick with sparkpeople. Sparkpeople, for those who don't know, is a Free website/eating plan, where you basically take baby steps to eating properly, have a large community where you can talk about any interest under the sun -including raw food eating and you just count calories instead of points, etc...baby steps even with that though. It's not a perfect fit, like they recommend dairy in some articles they write or whatever, but the actual way they address eating patterns I find really helpful and in line with the workbooks I am currently doing. The sense of community is huge though, and they even have a reward system where you collect points...it sounds cheesy but for some reason it has grown on me and I like being able to reward myself for all my little baby steps, lol.

It takes some getting used to, but once you get your bearings with the site, it's a nice spot to be. If any of you join the site feel free to add me! It's ANNAMAAM. ...or you can give me your username and I'll try and find you if that's easier.

As for this site, I might post the odd thing or recipe I have tried that I love, stuff like that, but otherwise am going to commit to the sparkpeople website instead. I wish you all well!
