One Month! (Raw, that is)
I've just realized this morning that today is my one month-iversary! Woo hoo! Over the weekend I bought a ton of books to keep my head in the raw game. One is The China Study which is a must read for anyone concerned about the effect their food has on their body. I find that I need a lot of media to help me through this part, not because it's a sacrifice to eat this way, but because I find a lot of people around me still looking at me sideways for my food choices. Forget the fact that I lost 15 lbs the raw way and never felt deprived! I like having these books on hand, and this site of course, to remind myself that there are others out there that are just doing right by themselves by giving their bodies only the best nutrition.
Something I find interesting.... When eating SAD I would find myself eating something religiously for like a week. I'm still doing that on raw! For example: I've just recently got over my obsession for this smoothie, which I ate for dinner for like a week:
handful of strawberries
half an avocado
handful of spinach
almond milk to desired consistency
These days it's zucchini spagetti with either raw marinara or a twist on the basic nut cheese. I've had that for at least 3 days in a row! Can this possibly be good for me? Am I finding balance with my other fruits and veggie throughout the day? Lol, it feels like I am anyways. I love the raw life.
