Where I am and Where I'm going?

Rate this Entry
On November 23 I got the results of my food sensitivity test. It was expensive, but great in the sense of No Guess Work...and a much better understanding of how sensitivities work.

On my Severe List:

Yeast (baker's): 73
Cow's milk: 46
Peanut: 43
Gliadin (gluten protein): 40
Bean (red kidney): 36 ...ook?
Almond: 32
Goat Milk: 32

On my Moderate List:

Yeast (brewer's): 29 (good thing I hate beer)
Wheat: 28
Sheep Milk: 26

...there is a bunch on the mild list that are 'high-end' mild, but I was told to only worry about the moderate and severe list. But also forewarned that if I quit those foods and then start eating a lot of the high-mild food in replacement, I will likely develop a sensitivity to those items....like cashews for example. This explains why the last time I was raw vegan long term, I started noticing bad effects when I ate cashews (as I was eating a Lot of cashew-based things).

So I am on dayyyyy 11! with no severe/moderate food items....that's no yeast, no gluten, no dairy, no peanuts and almonds...and yes even no kidney beans or sheep's milk, lol.

So far:

No more arthritic symptoms...AT ALL. Whatsoever!

A Major decrease in acne.

A Major decrease in endometriosis pain.

Much sounder sleeping (although that might be do to the huge decrease in chocolate bars, lol).

....still some anxiety and acne though. I've also lost 3 pounds. ..mind you, that is Also probably due to the huge decrease in chocolate bars, lol.

I'm almost done school for the semester and I seriously don't want to make any more changes till that is said and done. I have about 10 essay pages Per Day to write between now and Dec. 12 (perfect time to blog!).

Then in January, I will be in placement! I will have a couple of courses going and be busy....but not like this semester was...which was crazy. I am right impressed with myself that I was able to cut out all those foods and be eating So Much better even with all the stress of school. It makes me think that I might be able to make changes amidst chaos in the future as well. That I needn't let my life boss me around. I am not sure what is next up to bat but I am sure it will have Something to do with lots of raw vegan foods? ...oh and I bought an electric sprouter thingy for myself from Christmas (from my man, lol). Mind you, it's huge...so I have to finish school just to rearrange almost my whole house to set it up, lol.

in fact, I have a friend, who in the course of one year, Sheerly through baby steps, exercised consistently and counted calories and lost almost 50 pounds. She's a very busy highschool teacher, always marking, has two quite young children, takes extra courses, constantly goes to seminars and things, she even has parent issues.

~So if she can do it....I can do it~

Really makes me want to get myself checked! I seem to have some sensitivity when it comes to pineapples, oh no! (like hives around my mouth, I can live with that)

Some good things to know Bananna :o)
Was it really very expensive? Isn't it a shame that something so helpful is expensive.

ZD, try waiting til the pineapple is more ripe and always eat any that you have cut up right away. If you don't want to eat the whole pineapple then just take a slice or two off at a time.

That is so true Bananna. To have something in black in white must male it so real. Hummmm I think that is why I keep coming back to raw. I slept yesterday from 7 pm until 8 am this morning after a day full of SAD foods. : O. I weigh 113 pounds eating raw; 169 eating SAD. The numbers. The feeling. They just don't lie and are hard to ignore. I'm so glad you have this new tool to help. congrats. You are an inspiration!

Hey thanks for all the positive feedback and stuff! You guys rawk as usual....the test was $266, Canadian. It is my Christmas present. ...I had to go through a naturopath to get it ordered, BUT it was done at a legitimate blood lab where you would normally go to get any bloodwork. ...nothing airy-fairy like live blood analysis or iridology (which I am not trying to start a debate on those things, lol....part of me is interested in them too, just sayin it's factual).

So four hundred total or so by the time you pay for a naturopath....and I really resent that ND's aren't covered in healthcare...but my school did pay for this one as part of their 'natural/green' philosophy...they are trying to be all cutting-edge that way, so that was pretty cool.

I tried your advice the other night MysticTree and the hives didn't seem as severe. The pineapple had been sitting around for a few days, so maybe that helped ripen it up a bit..? Bananna, that's the best gift... one for your health!
