Georgina's Raw Journey

Disappointed in attitudes

I find it rather sad that even on this forum which is based around Alissa's philosophy of eating raw foods that so many people are only interested in weight loss. It's good to be a healthy weight but it's not the be all and end all.

It isn't a good thing to lose a doo-dad-ton of weight in a couple of weeks.

Giving up eating is something to be considered very carefully as fasting has been shown to have some incredible benefits. It isn't a great way to permanently lose weight if you aren't being guided by someone who knows about fasting.

I would love to see people thinking in terms of healthy living on a raw or high raw diet rather than the crazy yo-yo-ing and crashing that seems to persist from the world of SAD eating.

You can't change the consequences of a life-time of bad eating habits in the few weeks before Christmas or your summer holiday. It's a form of madness to try because you won't succeed.

Learn to appreciate and love who you are when you are over weight and you might just find that long term raw eating will actually keep that weight off. If you don't love yourself for who you are and with all the faults and failings that you have then you will never win any battle you have with food and weight.

You can love yourself to slimness but you will never hate yourself to slimness. You will just hate yourself to more hatefulness and loathing.

not everyone who is on a big weight loss journey has lived a life time of bad eating habits.

I think anyone who can find a diet or way of eating that is healthy and good for their body that ultimately helps them lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle for life is commendable. This would help rid obesity.

I'm sure there are thousands of people from all walks of life whom have struggled with weight loss and not found what has worked for them then perhaps stumbling across raw eating and then realising wow this is a great way of living, eating, getting healthy.

Not every overweight human being is tarred with the same brush. I love myself as a human being but I don't love being overweight.

I doubled my natural body weight in 10 months! It has been a crappy time. NOTHING has worked well for me BUT as a newbie rawbie of just four days I am seeing and feeling amazing benefits that can only help me be the most healthy I can be and help rid me of my excess weight. Up until this happened to me I lived a happy healthy life, used to run 10kms every morning before I went to work !

That's where I need to get back to. This is not a fad diet for me nor for thousands of others. Look at beautiful Leesha who has shed 145 lbs eating RAW, she is a legend as are many others.

    Just my two cents worth

This blog post was written a while back when the forum was full of posts about eating raw food to just lose weight then after a few weeks, when crazy amounts of weight had been lost, go back to cooked foods. People who never looked at raw eating before, suddenly announcing they were going on 90 day juice fasts just to lose weight. A bunch of people who so hated being overweight that they hated themselves. You needed to read it in the context of the forum at the time.
