My Wonderfully Raw Journey
The Mom Makeover!! Semi-Raw!!!!!
So i'm excited to announce that my mom is willing to start eating a lot healthier and semi-raw!! I'm super excited! Just the other day she was telling me how she bought stuff to make my raw oatmeal cookies, dates, some raw nuts and seeds and even stuff to make a green smoothie!! Now idk if she's started but i was super impressed. She read a few of my raw books while we were on vacation and she had her skeptical questions and i tried to explain them to her and let her know that it's not about being raw it's about just eating healthier whole foods. She told me she's willing to give up meat except for fish and that she wants to keep eating dairy. I told her that was awesome and that i'm here to help her get started! She said some dishes she'll still cook but she's definitely gonna try incorporating more fresh veggies, raw desserts, and green smoothies into her life. This is a big step! She even thought about doing a 5 day detox and i think i'm going to try and get her to join me in mine.
So this afternoon i'll be going to her house to clean up her kitchen...it's scary in there. Then we're gonna go grocery shopping so i can show her the new staple products she should be buying and i'm going to give he some of my raw oats(the oats she bought here quaker brand) and also some quinoa which i'm sure she'll cook but i'm ok with that it's better than white processed pastas and breads. Hopefully i can even take her to the local co-op so she can see some of the awesome stuff they have to offer including natural cleansers for body and home.Today is going to be a fun Semi-Raw makeover!! We've even talked about building a garden at her house so she can start being more organic and saving money on her greens plus that would be awesome for me too lol. I'm gonna bring Alissa's book to her to read and keep since she needs some sort of basic raw "bible" in her home. The other books are from the library so we'll scan some pages of the recipes she wants to try for now. I'm hoping if i can convince her to stick to a 3-5 day raw food detox she'll realize how amazing raw foods can be and will want to strive to be even higher in raw but i'm just trying to do baby steps lol
Also I'm hoping to make some raw doggie treats soon to start giving to my doggie also and i need to find raw cat food recipes as i'd love to start giving my cat better nutrition and something to cure her hair balls. If you have any suggestions please let me know!!
Last night i posted food pictures and they might not be working so hopefully you can see them here on my blog. the first one is my Fudge Brownie Pudding and the next is my teriyake kelp noodle stir fry
