My Wonderfully Raw Journey

Making Raw work for me on my 30 day challenge!

So i've decided that being 100% raw is something i have to aspire to but can't achieve right now during my current life and situation. Hopefully when i graduate, get a stable job, and have a decent place with space i can make the full switch. But i've noticed i've been striving for perfection and it's making me crazy!

I needed to take a step back today and see what resources are easily available to me and will allow me to be successful right here and now. I decided to no longer buy organic all the time. Only certain foods will i only buy strictly organic like my greens, strawberries, and tomatoes everything else can be conventional. I will only go to the co-op for my staples such as herbs, braggs, almond butter, nori wraps, and buying oats and quinoa in bulk. Also as much as the raw desserts are tempting i only plan to make them for special occasions like holidays or gifts for a friend. My only raw dessert/snack will be banana ice cream and larabars(discovered them today, they aren't raw but they're vegan and delicious yet affordable!!!) I plan to eat simply such as a fruit smoothie, green smoothie, or cereal in the morning a big salad with fruits, nuts and homemade dressing for lunch and for dinner either a kelp noodle dish, quinoa dish, wraps, or my veggie sushi wraps. I still want to experiment every now and then but for now i just want to get into the groove of raw and be successful with my next 26 days of the challenge. Also i'm giving up on having my nuts fully raw as long as they're organic and unsalted i'm happy :). I wont be sprouting as i dont have space or resources to sprout a lot and my grocery store sells organic sprouts at a decent price. I will soak my quinoa and rice though and experiment with sprouting the quinoa!

I know that 100% is the way to be and it's easy for most. But my goals right now are to be eating as fresh, whole and simple as much as possible at a price that wont make me homeless. When i can go completely 100% i will and this journey will be amazing until then!

On a side note i made almond milk today out of almond butter from ani phyos book. I thought i was making a smoothie but it was so watery and i re read and realized it's almond milk with
1/4 cup raw almond butter
2 bananas,
1 tbsp raw honey(or 2tbsp agave)
1/4 tsp cinnamon
3 cups of water
1 cup of ice
It was delicious. It's seems to be a raw version of muscle milk. As she stated it'd be great for a post work out to build lean muscles lol
Also the Larabar's i got only have simple vegan ingredients in them! I got 3 a keylime, apple pie, and tropical I believe and they were 1.50 each.
Keylime pie: Dates,Cashews,Almonds, unsweetened coconut and lime juice concentrate
They would be fun to use as cookiedough in some ice cream lol but their chocolate might not be dairy free so i didn't buy any chocolate ones and don't plan on it. Also they could easily be created at home for those who can afford the experimentation :)

I'm about to watch Alissa's Dvds since i'm at my moms doing laundry(yea i cant afford the laundry machines in my apartment lol)

Have a hapy 4th of July everyone! I'm going to keep RAWKing on in July and you should too!
