My Wonderfully Raw Journey

Too much alkaline?

Rate this Entry
So today at work i ate a big spinach sald with celery, red peppers, cucumbers, carrots, and some mock salmon pate on top. I ate the whole thing and never felt stuffed but satisfied. Only a few hours later i started to feel really bloated and nauseas. I couldn't figure out what could be wrong. My energy levels dropped i felt sluggish and i wanted to throw up bad. I tried to recap on what i could have eaten that would have caused this and decided i had had too much veggies today and my stomach was to alkaline(word check lol)? I ate 3 strawberries from the cooler at work(I work at edible arrangements hence i snack on fruit a lot lol) and within minutes my energy sky rocketed and my stomach began to feel a zillion times better! I never heard of someone getting sick off of too much veggies but tomorrow i plan to take it easy and eat mostly fruit with occasional nuts and only have my salad at my birthday dinner. Has anyone else every experienced this?

I would suggest that it was the combination of what you rather than actually what you ate.

If you had eaten the same but omitted the mock salmon then you probably would have felt fine. I find those nut-based pates can be less than friendly sometimes.

I find eating meals of just one food type works best for me and try not to swing between high fruit and high veggie days but keep the days balanced. I keep nuts to a minimum and only eat soaked/sprouted ones in small amounts and try to make sure there is no fruit and veg consumed for at least an hour or so before and afterwards.

It's a shame really because I quite like pate stuffed tomatoes but mustn't have that very often.
