My Wonderfully Raw Journey

My first green smoothie

Rate this Entry
So this morning after my workout i decided to make my first green smoothie ever. I was nervous but i'm glad i did. I used about 2 cups of spinach and two small collard leafs(never had collards so i was being cautious lol) half of an apple and 1 banana. Since i don't have a super fancy vitamixer i just added half cup of water and used a plastic soup spoon to push my food towards the blender to help get it going but after that i left it blending on high for about a minute or 2 to ensure smoothness and allowed me to clean up and popped it in the freezer since i knew it was warm and then took a sip and oh boy!!! yummy!!! wasn't expecting it to be good. I got 3 cups worth and i ate the other half of the apple lol

Later i plan to make some cheese to make a collard wrap and i've got some grapefruits and seeds to snack on!! YAY RAW DAY!!!

I'm planning to make a smoothie later with mango, banana and greens - probably spinach. I hope it comes out good because I love all those things just on their own and would hate to waste them by putting them together but I suppose nothing ventured, nothing gained.

and as an aside, try not to let other posters on here pick on you. There are a few in particular who seem to get a kick out of it. If you find your self feeling defensive about posts on a thread then just ignore and move on. It's really hard sometimes especially when you really want to clarify what you've said - I am getting better at walking away and it is empowering for me and de-powering for the bully.

I think if you use just a tad bit less greens than normal the mango banana combo will be a blast!

As for those crazy peoples life's too short for me to really care lol. I know they're just being rude because idk everything there is to know and im a curious person and i'm not afraid to speak my mind which makes me seem naive and silly. Thanks for your kind words you're awesome!!
