HELP! Day 8: No Weight Loss!!!

Rate this Entry
Hi everyone...

I'm a bit "blue" today.... I stepped on the scale today and to my surprise I did not lose ANY weight!!!!!!!!!!!

I started this week at 188 lbs and the scale said the same thing today!!! What am I doing wrong??? Maybe I've been eating too much nuts/guacamole combination... I thought I had a good menu, but now I'm doubting myself!!! I don't want to get discouraged, but I don't know what else to do. I have been doing 30 minutes of cardio every other day... Maybe I need to bump that up to 1 hour...

My typical diet consists of: Green juice, smoothies, flax crackers, zucchini pasta with marinara sauce, almond butter, walnut pate, fruits, veggies, salids, Pate sandwiches, dehydrated corn chips, Portabella mushrooms

Please tell me if I'm doing anything wrong or need to add anything in my diet. I've been trying to follow Alissa's book, but because she doesn't tell you what to eat from day to day, I'm not sure if I'm getting enough of the things I need in the day or maybe I'm eating too much...

I would appreciate ANY insight!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!

Sometimes - and MOST OFTEN - i've heard people say that they are NOT losing any weight - the scale still says yaddah yaddH. BUT... what they don't realize is that they are losing INCHES... INCHES ARE MELING AWAY! That's one reason why Alissa says - lose the scale - trust your body and lose the scale! (that's why I gave away my scale) and then I began noticing my clothes were fitting looser. Howz your clothes feeling??

I followed the 30 day plan in Alissa's book for about the first 3 weeks, but I also noticed that sometimes, I was just too full to eat a dinner, so I might just have a snack or piece of fruit. If you feel like your clothes are not looser - then I'd cut back on the nut sauces a bit - or high fat items like avos, stuff like that.

I figured I'm just gunna trust. I'm gunna do it for 30 days no matter wht I see or don't see. That will be the TRUE test - how I feel at the END of 30 days. If I'm eating healthier I will see results. If eating this way is better for me - than I WILL SEE SOME RESULTS AT THE END OF 30 DAYS. and lo and behold I did!! Keep it up ReneeH... don't give up jus becuz of what your scale says - this is BIGGER than your scale - this is about freedom - this is about taking your life back!!

    Movement
Are you exercising? I can lose weight on diet alone, but it would take forever! I have to workout (do something daily) in order for my fat to melt away.

    Timing
I try to eat my larger meals early in the day and taper off later in the evening and just eat fruit in the few hours before bed. There are exceptions to this though (going out with friends, or a heavier workout after work)

    Portions
When I eat nuts, I only eat maybe 10 at the very most (5 is more typical) I never eat a large amount. I would have 1 tablespoon of nut butter or pumpkin seed butter in a serving. I stick to one avocado and/or coconut a day if I have them at all.

If I eat nuts, I go lite on avocados or coconut. Sometimes Ill eat avocado and a coconut and no nuts. I only eat both on my heavier workout days.

Moderation I dont think nuts and fats are the devil, but you do have to moderate the amount you consume and it really depends on my activity level (at least for me).

(sorry about all of the posts, they only let you post 500 characters at a time)

    Thanks so much you guys!!!

Starfire: I will take what you said to heart and definitely try really hard to lose the scale... It's a hard habit to break, but I'll try!!!

Barose: Yea, I definitely think I need to re-think the nut/guac combo and exercise more. I'll pay more attention to the amount of nuts I take in during the day and eat more during the day instead of later at night.

Hi Renee! I'm in the same boat this week... my scale hasn't budged in a week, even though I've been totally raw! I have also worried about too many nuts, although my only nut intake is my pine nut Caesar salad dressing. From what I've heard, it's normal to plateau from time to time, and I share your frustration! Just hang in there... that's what I'm trying to do! Take care! :)

You already got very good advices! First thing I would say is STAY RAW! That is the real thing that matters!! And then: REDUCE SALT/SODIUM!! It retains A LOT watr in the body... and when you exercised a lot, then yu might have builded muscles wich are heavier than fat;)

Hi Renee! You're doing awesome. I haven't lost a tremendous amount of weight, but Starfire is right - you start losing inches!! Plus I feel happier and healthier, and more beautiful. I would say cut back on the almond butter and nuts. I've been eating fruit smoothies and salads, and not feeling hungry at all.
