Hey, Monk! Thank you. I am feeling wayyyyyy more motivate. I just brought home all my raw yummies. I even managed to fit in stopping by the health food store. Picked up some Kombucha, raw cashews (for pineapple cream to put in my smoothies to make them creamy), raisins and vitamin b complex. My thyroid is in major need of the extra b's. I'm ready to really press in to raw in a new and exciting week! (((HUGS)))

    Sounds good!
How do you make the pineapple cream?
    Gotta love B vitamins!!

Soak your cashews overnight and in the morning, cut up a pineapple fresh. Throw both into a blender. Two parts pineapple to one part cashews. Blend until smooth, pour into a bowl and let it set up for a few hours. I usually use whatever is still stuck to the blender to make my breakfast smoothie. When you want to make a really creamy smoothie take several spoonfuls of this cream, add water and fruit (greens if you want a green smoothie) and blend. Best smoothie ever! Makes all the difference in the world in the texture of the drink. Once I found this, I never wanted real milk in a smoothie again. I have my cashews soaking in the fridge right now.

    Thanks Shel!!
I will have to try that - it sounds really good!!!
How much do you add to your smoothie?

mmmm yellow mangos are finally in season... those are my FAVOURITE!
  7. ShelShel's Avatar
Monk~a few spoon fulls...a cup of this lasts me about 4 days.

Aleesha~I haven't really had mangos much since childhood. My mom fed them to my brother and I ...we loved them...then we broke out in a rash all over. My mom thought we were allergic. I purposely stayed away for fear. As an adult, I realize that it was the skin, not the fruit.
I am really looking forward to the honeydew I have in my kitchen right now, as well as papayas! Oh how I love fruits!

The yellow mangos are so much sweeter than the green/red ones. mmmmm Are you going to give them a try?

OH I HAVE to try this pineapple cream!! I will soak some cashews today and buy the pineapple...sounds like a lovely way to start a monday morning!

Congrats on working out everyday before work! Curious how you're doing it...if you start work at nine, what time are you getting up and does that mean you go to bed early and does That interfere with your hubby time? ...sorry, but am just trying to figure the logistics for myself too, lol. ;)

    Glad you're still kickin!

Aleesha~Well, of course! LOL you have made them sound amazing. As soon as I find some, I will let you know what I think!

Bananna, I actually wake up at 4:50 am. :O As I type, I was thinking...wow...this sounds bad. LOL I wake up, take my thyroid pill, pee (too much info...sorry) and then start my low impact aerobic work out DVD, followed directly by my bottoms up VHS (lower body workout). If it's an upper body day I do the first DVD followed by free weights for 40 minutes. Then it is off to wake the kids and jump in the shower. And I have to be to work at 8:30 am. (After dropping the kiddies off to school first.)
And actually I always need more sleep than everyone else around me, but since I started eating more raw again, I have more energy. I've been going to bed around 10 pm like usual. :)
I feel so good tonight, I'm going to do some more exercises!
    Hope that helps.

oh good... cause you have to find them!

LOL I love finding others who like raw food as much as I do. Do you ever just stand at the counter after peeling a fruit and eat it right there? I find that I savor every bite without ever sitting down. YUMMMMMMMMMMM!
  13. Bananna's Avatar
That sounds like a reasonable regime...thanks for sharing :-)
  14. ShelShel's Avatar
Ok... Bananna, I read back over what I wrote and I know that I'm am positively not normal. You are too kind. It doesn't sound reasonable, but it's my life. I have to fit me in there without taking away from everywhere else I have to be at all times...work...wife...mother...it's exhausting to think about, but for the first time in a long time, I feel like I can handle it all. It's just prioritizing things. Me first...morning...starting my day off taking care of me! Everyone else is sleeping...I love it.
Hope you find whatever groove works best for you!
  15. Bananna's Avatar
Perhaps it sounds perfectly reasonable because I am a mother too, lol. ...it really does sound reasonable, tough being at work at 8:30 but your kids aren't young so that's good atleast. I know that morning quiet you speak of, and I love it too...guess I've just fallen out of the groove of it.

I guess for me, I'm a distance ed student, and have recently figured out how to download my lectures onto my smartphone, so I have been inconsistently working out at the ymca listening to them, and then having a shower there, going in the sauna and starting my day...but do that after I drop the kids off at school and while it's nice, I realize I can't 'start the rest of my day' at noon forever. For now I rationalize it because I'm 'doing schoolwork' at the same time...but it's hard because often I can't listen to lectures, often I need to read or write. I have been thinking of working out in the early mornings like you are but calculated that if I wanted to go to the ymca to do it and shower and sauna and everything I would need to get up at ...maybe 5am, lol. So I would have to go to bed at 9pm.

THAT is why I said your regime sounds reasonable, lol.

10pm is my goal...maybe I could do some paper writing in the early morning and go to the y as per usual after 9. ...not sure what to do come July when I'm in school 40 hours a week for the whole summer, and placements after that! ...maybe evenings....I might do evenings cuz my daughter wants to work out at the y, do yoga classes etc. there are a Lot of teen girls there in the evenings, in packs, lol.
