So through my studies... I have recently learned that gluten is a goitrogen, which inhibit the thyroid from functioning correctly. Many SAD eaters don't know they have a gluten issue until it is too late. An unchecked gluten intolerance can create possible auto immune diseases.
Gluten is found in many processed foods as well. Even caramel flavoring. Malted anything...stay away. Gluten is mainly found in Wheat, barley, rye.
NOTE: Wheatgrass is not yet mature and doe not exhibit a goitrogen factor to worry about. Juice on.
Those who have hypo-(under)-thyroid issues can continue to eat the goitrogen veggies raw, however be sure to limit how much.
