The process continues
I am excited to have a place to write about my experiences since raw! In only 2.5 months I have completely changed the way I live! I have read and read and searched answers when all the while I know to listen to my body! The one disappointment is that I have not lost an ounce of body fat! The positives definately outweith this as long as I can stay focused on them. My main goal is to stay off of any and all medications from thyroid to stomach to mood etc... I also do not EVER want to go back to weighing measureing counting or excluding foods - well you know what i mean there! I have been experiencing so many emotions in the last 10 weeks and so many physical reactions! At this point ther are a few certainty's with some foods - here goes!
Cocoa - toooo stimulating for me! May be it is good as a boost but immediately my chest feels tight and I stay up all hours when I eat it - even in nibs!
Goji - tooo stimulating! Too much energy packed in those little babies!
Bananas - yum and great physically - mentally - still very hard to imagine that these carb/sugar bombs are actually ok to eat!
Greens - love them love them love them! I could eat them forever and I love green smoothies - which is why I will stay fat and not go the low carb route - although gs can be low carb too! They do bloat me - i don't use much fruit in them but I do use alot of greens - kale spinach parsley are my favorites dandelion was too bitter and arugalatoo.
Plain fruit - I try to eat this before noon but it really does make me fuzzy - a gs works better for me although - this is odd but they actually "back me up!"
Nuts - no way! I can not even touch them
Dehydrated things - taste too good and I eat too much!
Icecream - when I first went raw I made huge batches of coconut icecream and it is just too caloric for me - and I am really tired after eating it so I guess this means that it does not agree with me - too bad!
My usual day was....light breakfast or gs, peppers and berries afternoon, a humongous salad when I came home which led to eating for the entire night - whatever was around - raw cookies, breads, and crackers in addition to icecream - raw of course! I have finally been able to change this a bit and now my day is as follows:
3-5 mile run
water -
weights
green smoothie 1/2 banana and some berries with tons of greens - or plain fruit
afternoon when I am hungry again another gs made with 1/2 avocado and tomato
Something here - I used to do a handful of goji and cocoa but i need something different
g.s when I get home - probably with fruit and some yellow peppers to snack on
The dinner thing is a HUGE change! I would eat for hours once I had that first delicious bite of salad! Some nights I may still have a salad as long as the gs is dessert.
I am inactive all day at work - not by choice so i usually walk a few miles in the evening and then flop on the couch!!
