Suddenly, eating a raw diet seems extremely right. Crisp, towering salads brimming with fuschia onion slivers, earthy olives, nourishing olive oil, purifying garlic, creamy avocados, a bit of tangy mustard, and a swarthy pile of organic mushrooms, preferably maitake or shitake. This sounds like an enchanted forest I can eat!
In a few days, when I am able, I will be stocking up on raw staples and goodies to embark on another journey to feeling better. As of late I've been merely subsisting on ample amounts of constipation inducing gluten, cruelty filled cheese, mood swing causing sugar, and too much caffeine. I do not feel nourished or at ease within my body. I feel like it's working against me because I'm not feeding it what makes it hum most smoothly. Until I give it what it wants, it shall repent.
My shopping list is looking like this: several avocados in varying stages of ripeness, a big red onion or two, a few heads of romaine, mixed greens, olives, gala apples, dates, organic olive oil, pumpkin seeds, shredded carrot, bananas, cinnamon, fresh basil, fresh parsley, lemons, limes, berries, plums, raw tahini, portabellas, maitakes, shitakes, and any other mushrooms that look good, scallions, fennel, lemongrass, kale, and more.
I am desperate to lose 20 lbs, feel happier, cleaner, less congested, less bloated, and more energetic. Right now I'm dependent on caffeine and sugar to make it through the day and that's not very good.
