TGIM - Thank God it's Monday!
This was one of those crazy-busy weekends which makes me happy to see Monday morning.
The Good News - Friday I went to the DMV to take my driving test and I passed with flying colors. I got 100% with no points docked whatsoever. I'm so proud of myself. So, now I am a full-fledged driving adult.
The Mediocre News - Quentin had his black belt pre-test on Saturday and completely bombed the One-Step and Self-Defense portions. He is just too darned nice. I am now randomly attacking him throughout the day and really putting on the moves so that he will HAVE to fight to get out of them. I need to figure out how to make him understand that it's NOT funny though. Obviously, to an 11 yr. old it is utterly hilarious when your mom comes at you with a "blade" or choke holds you (please don't call social services on me, he is in NO danger whatsoever . He doesn't seem to understand that this could REALLY happen with a REAL attacker though. Part of me wants to have a friend attack him without him knowing who it is and part of me thinks that would traumatize him for life. Either way though, I need to figure out some way to make him more aggressive when it comes to self-defense.
