Day 4 & Feeling A-Ok

Rate this Entry
Hey all -- thanks for your support yesterday, I really needed it. Woke up this morning and my headache is gone! Still sniffly and itchy (allergy, detox, combo, who knows) but I can live with it. I made some good progress on food choices yesterday by eating more whole fruits/veggies and relying less on seeds, nuts and avocado, which I love and easily gravitate to.

So, Tuesday mornings are my long-standing weekly weigh-in. You know, just to keep accountable. But I'm not a daily scale hopper, as this makes me crazy. Well girls...I stepped on the Mighty Platform of Judgment this morning and have lost a pound since starting this challenge on Saturday! Whoohoo! Down to 211. It's only a matter of time before I'm below 210 FOREVER. My goals are in 5 lb increments right now.

G4G (Lisa) has been my Shining Light since Feb 20 when she challenged me to go Vegan. It's been a process of stops and starts since then, but I've made progress. I started really getting serious about it on April 17 when my weight rebounded (Jan 1 = 216), so here's my stats:

Apr 17: 215
Apr 24: 213
May 1: 212
May 5 Day 1 Raw Vegan: 212
May 8: 211

So yesterday I ate basically: granola w/ almond milk, strawberries, banana (1), apple, a tiny bit of avocado....and for dinner I threw together this delicious smoothie. I was skeptical on the taste but it was really GOOD...light, and not too sweet or too "green".

6 fl oz OJ
6 fl oz Goji juice
~Blend together with ice~
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 head butter lettuce
1 cup clove sprouts
1 T agave nectar
1 T (heaping) green barley powder
~Mix until smooth~

Did want to mention that this made more than I thought - enough to fill 2 big glasses (16 fl oz ea). I'll get better at figuring out the portion thing as I keep doing this!
