Jenifae's Raw Journey

Completed a 10 Day Juice Fast!

Rate this Entry
I completed my 1st Juice Fast of 10 days!

I was leary that I could complete this but, with a support group and forum it really helped. In fact it made all the difference in the world for me.

So, throughout the journey it went from struggle to okay to at the end feeling really good and strong. I did 3 green juices with 2 fruit juices in between a day. The Green juice helped me to feel satiated and the fruit juices helped to not feel hungry, or so it seemed. I had lots of on and off detox symptoms but, pushed through it. Everyday I was more empowered on my ability to complete it. Even though I had alot of fatique, tiredness, and general weakness. By the 7th day my energy came back and felt great!

I had cravings for guacamole and mocha's alot along with other things but, realized this all mostly mental. Because, I truely was not hungry. My mind was so used to acting out with food. So, interesting.

I learned so much about myself during the fast as well. I saw attitudes and behaviors in myself that are not who I want to be. So, I really learned about Who I Am, Who I Want to Be, and how I want to get there.

My Goal is to continue to eat healthy and High Raw!

My Anxiety has disappeared and I was able to drive all the way to my Granddaughter's Birthday Party which is a 2-3 hour drive away, on my own. Wow! I haven't been able to do that in a few years now. So, that in itself makes me want to contine a healthy diet of mostly Fresh, Ripe, Organic, Fruits and Vegetables!

However, I did treat myself to a Lovely Mexican Meal of Grilled Veggies, Beans, and Guacomole and Salsa...yes, and some chips. A very small sliver of Hubby's apple pie. I enjoyed it and ate it with appreciation. :) If I"m going to eat cooked I am not beating myself up. The beating myself up could cause a continueation of what I don't want.

So, tomorrow is a Green Juice and Fruit Day! :)

You are oozing confidence and energy, hope and health again Jen. Keep on rawkin.
I can identify perfectly with your driving 2-3 hours on your own. I know exactly what this means to you. I've had the very same problem and have come a long way in overcoming it too. I know how to drive alone to Toronto and how to bypass it also and this summer will drive alone all the way to the Eastern Townships in Quebec to see my Mum.
    (((hugs)))

    Hi Sue,

Thank You! Well, that "Mexican Dinner" was so nice and I did enjoy it but, am paying the price today. I have a headache and am foggy. Interesting so, was it a "Treat"? So, instead of being negative by going into the shoulds about, I am paying attention to how I feel and what I want. I want to Feel Good! So, that said....today I am walking through it and had Green Juice, Tea, and Mango. ;)
I just have to wonder if the "Freeway Anxiety" has been caused by a "SAD-BAD" diet. I have not been able to drive myself on the freeways for about 4 years. So, that was so "HUGE" for me. :)

That is wonderful. Seems to prove how food can and does affect our mental state.

I'm taking a page from you and getting some support for a juice fast. Starts this Saturday. Going for at least 21 days of 2 green juices a day and one light meal. I'm getting excited about what changes are ahead, especially knowing how well your juicing expererience worked for you.

    Stay lean and green! ~RK

Yes, they are Incredible. Then why am I slipping back already? Ack! Today wasn't bad but, I think I may have to decide. 100% Raw and Not at all. I'm ready for another juice fast. It was so easy.

I have to drive this weekend so, I best get myself back in gear. My Granddaughter Bella and Robert my son are here until Thurs. So, I will probably juice after that. But, I am going to do another 7 day Raw Challenge starting tomorrow!

Where or who are you doing the juice fast with, Knitster? Maybe I'll join you on this That sounds good. I was actually thinking tonight that I want to do juice until an evening salad. ;)

I love it....Stay Lean and Green!
