Slow and steady
I have been taking it slow and steady, eating as much raw as possible, yet allowing myself to eat cooked food as well.
Eating more raw has made me feel great this week!! I would say I've eaten about 70% raw. I would have been eating even more raw if the weather hasn't been cold and rainy. I don't have a vitamix or dehydrator so everything I eat is cold and not what I'm craving in cold weather, but I still find that after eating I am satisfied and enjoying the simple raw meals I prepare.
My focus is on Mindful Eating. I am tracking everything I eat in a app 'Mindful Eating' on my iphone. I am trying to stay focused on what I'm eating, prepare foods lovingly, and enjoy and savor each bite.
I also am following the Body for Life workout plan.
3 days a week - weights
3 days a week - cardio
1 day a week - rest
I am also doing karate training 3-4 times a week and assisting with childrens karate classes 2 days a week.
My plan for this week:
Make a list of motivations or a mission statement that I can read every time I am about to eat or contemplating eating something. Maybe something I can memorize so that I can keep it in my head at all times and keep it the focus of what what I am trying to do.
Make motivational little notes and put them EVERYWHERE!
Update my raw status on my facebook and recruit the help and motivation of my friends and family.
Read about and find out more about Mindful Eating. The book I want to read is called
Savor: Mindful Eating, Mindful Life
by Thich Nhat Hanh, Lilian Cheung
Get in all my workouts and try to be as physically active as possible.
