This is my Nineveh!
And we're back.. with a few nasty things inside...
Hi Everyone,
I dropped off the grid again and for the past two and a half weeks, I've been sleeping. Unfortunately they've changed the attendance policy at my place of work. No longer can a doctor excuse you due to illness. Four confirmed cases of H1N1, communal pnuemonia running rampant, and all the secondary infections that go along with it... have been breeding well.. rampantly in a cesspool of feverish, malnourished, sleep deprived representatives throughout the building.
We now get ten total calendar days of unexcused absences. These include those provided by your doctors note.
For a week I pushed on.. work and literally sleeping on breaks, on the way to and from work and the moment I got home as I started fighting off whatever settled in.
A week ago Sunday I gave in to the flu and slept around the clock for two and a half days and returned to work. But I didn't make it that long.
So here we are, the flu (not H1N1 like the people on my team) conquered.. but now dealing with the secondary infections (bronchitis, acute sinusitis and double middle double inner ear infections). Doc says the cough will stick around for 3-5 weeks if I'm lucky and encouraged me to allow him to write me out of work for half that time. I'm not eligible for FMLA because it's a flu/cold.. and that would mean no job. Twenty minutes later my doctors note (despite his concerns) will release me back to work tomorrow.
My dear boyfriend wasn't so lucky. Communal pneumonia, but they caught it early and he was able to go back to work today.
The scary fact is I'm now half my sick days to my termination in less than 2 weeks since the policy was implemented and I don't want to be sick! Not again! Not ever!
I'm newly recommitted again that sitting up no longer causes me to pass out. Dizzy yes.. pass out.. not anymore.
I've lost close to 13 pounds (not water weight.. drank and drank and drank) according too the doctors scale the wrong way and chowing down on nuts and grapes.
Armed with my water bottle, my boyfriend will be going absolutely insane. Luckily the grocery store is only a mile and a half away. After we're both feeling better and since the weather is better, I'm hoping to start arming ourselves with daily lists of things we need and take the puppies a walking. Why not add grabbing a sack or two of the things we need for the night or next day while we're at it. =)
I'm hoping that everyone is doing well! I'm about to hit the blogs and catch up!
