For the last 3 weeks, since I got my driving permit, I've had the WORST insomnia brought on by nightmares about driving - actually, they're more so about crashing. ;) Uggh! It's driving me batty. I seem to be waking up progressively earlier every morning. Last night it was 12:30am. I've been trying to wear myself out a few hours before bed by exercising and then taking some liquid melatonin but it's just not helping. I've never had anything like this before.
Hopefully it will all be over once I take the licensing test tomorrow though. My driving instructor has been GREAT! He has made the one thing I was most worried about on the test - parallel parking - so easy. I originally wanted to do 10 lessons but he said to me, "let's just start with 7 and see how that goes. We can always add more later." Well, after the very first lesson he said, "you're definitely not even going to need all 7 lessons. I can't believe you've only been driving 2 weeks." Wish me luck tomorrow! I have to leave the house at 5:30am in order to go stand in line and try to sign up for a testing slot. It's utterly ridiculous that you can't make an appointment.
My cousin's viewing/funeral is tonight. I wish I understood the significance of such a ritual. It just never has made much sense to me. I will go though because, not to would break my grandmother's heart. She is already a bit fragile from this whole situation and I won't do anything to make it harder for her.
