Day 2
May 4th, 2007 - Ok, so I have to say, I am hopeful!![]()
This morning I am weighing in at 179.5 - six pounds down from where I was two mornings ago. Pretty amazing. Something else that even my husband noticed this morning? I was up and out of bed before 6am. And that was after reading until about 12:30. I simply wasn't tired anymore. I frequently stay up reading until I can fall asleep (it helps with the anxiety/panic attacks, which are most likely to hit at night when I am trying to go to sleep, if they hit at all...so reading is usually a great remedy to make sure that doesn't happen.) Then I usually sleep until 9-9:30 or so. Not this morning. And that was a NOTICIBLE difference. My husband (who always gets up around 5 or 6) actually said: "Wow, I can't believe you are getting up!" And I told him that I just wasn't sleepy anymore.
*Note - I'm not sure if I'm imagining things or not, but when I washed my face this morning I thought it looks like the skin texture is a little nicer and smoother, with fewer blackheads on my nose (a problem since my teen years) and blemishes. BONUS!
A couple more health issues I have been having that I forgot to mention earlier:
1. I bruise very easily. Bump into something and I know I am going to have a bruise there.
2. Brain fog - I have had this for years now. Not really noticible to others, but I notice that I have a harder time "accessing" words and information sometimes. It's just a "time-delay" pretty much, but still, I notice it. Also, just a general sense of "fog" rather than clarity. I remember first noticing this about 10 years ago.
3. Circles under my eyes - this is rather new...and seems to be a bit of a family trait, in that my dad and now my older sister have them. My dad has this pretty badly.
4. Athlete's Foot on my left foot. It's just chronically dry skin on the bottom of my foot that causes the skin to crack sometimes and it causes a burning sensation. I have tried tea tree oil and over the counter topical remedies without much success. Also, it causes three of my toe nails to grow thicker than usual and my big toenail is chronically ingrown, which causes me discomfort and isn't particularly attractive.
Diet so far today -
Breakfast -
Another serving of the "muslie" cereal I made yesterday morning. This time I blended about a cupful of it, which gives it more of a hot-cereal texture, and I added a tablespoon of agave nectar and a shake or two of salt. Much tastier this way and easier to eat.
