Oct 27th was 1 year raw ~but a few setbacks lately

I am proud to say that I am excited to say I started eating raw 1 year ago today..I first started out with green smoothies every day switching out the greens like kale, spianich, swiss chard and adding different things to make my smoothies sweet and tasty.I just added my favorite dessert in the photo section with Ani's Donut Holes My biggest problem at first was finding something I could eat and be satisfied with around the 8 pm hour. For some reason that is my bad time for a sweet treat. So I try and have a RAW DESSERT made item to keep me happy OR just have a big apple. That works for me too.I am loving raw and now that I am going itnto my second year eating raw I am adding lots of exercise, well a minimum of 1.5 hours at my YMCA.See I bought a pedometer and since we all should be getting 10,000 steps in a day,I felt I better put that rule into action. So that is my new thing Exercise.Oh Man.
Now I actually enjoy juicing as many of you may be aware of.I like the instant feeling I get in my body after juicing. If you juice you know what I mean .If you don't juice give it a try.~

Now as of this week its wet cold and I usually like to juice but its hard to juice .Its best I start eating raw again.I need a few hints on getting over my raw/cooked items hump?
Do some of you plan all your meals or wake up and figure then what you want for the day?

    Hello Dianne,

I see you are south of Seattle. I am on Bainbridge Island. Congratulations on 1 year raw! Isn't it a fun journey? I am not all raw, but have been on this site a few years. I just love raw food firsts. Like today I made raw sunburgers for the first time. Yum! And recently tried sea tangle kelp noodles.

I'm lacking motivation for my usual breakfast green smoothie as well. Instead I've been craving rich chocolatey smoothies (maybe because of the cool weather)with banana, raw almonds, medjool dates, cinnamon, nutmeg, cocoa powder, and water. I don't have specific advice on staying raw other than just keep it fun and try new things. It is such a blessing to have raw food. Take care.

Hi Dianne! Those look like new pics, and you are looking soooo different. You should post a thread in the before/after forum. Look what a year has done for you!

We all seem to go through tough times. The one and two year marks have their own set of pitfalls. Good for you for turning it around so quickly.

I used to plan out every bite of food that morning or the night before. Then I went to keeping a list of options to choose from. Nowadays I make sure there is plenty of food in the house and figure it out as I go. The only planning ahead I do is for dehydrated items and other recipes that need planning and soaking.

Nice to see you back. :)
