A Little of This; A Little of That

The Poll and Being an Exuberant Animal!

Rate this Entry
Finally! We've got the poll up so, if you could do me a favor and take a moment of your time to go to the poll and vote. The second page that comes up will have the results. You're helping someone win either a copy of my smoozie book or an item from my store. As a reminder, I love what I'm doing for weight with my program, yet, I'd rather transform it more into just eliminating cravings and habits. The weight then, will take care of itself. Make sense? That's why the new name ~ so it's not just about weight but, eliminating the habits and cravings behind poor eating.

After Monday night class, we do a quick debrief answering the question ~ "What did you get out of tonight?". Last week, my teacher called us all "exuberant animals".

I began thinking about that and how so many are not exuberant. Most children are exuberant. They run, they play, they enjoy life! As teenagers, they want to become adults because they feel trapped and want to be free YET, when they become adults, they almost always lose their freedom. They begin jobs, they get married, they become obligated! They go into debt! What happened to the freedom? What happened to the exuberance to become and adult?

The exuberance is gone with the weight of responsibility!

It's not as though those in the class don't have responsibilities. Of course we do! So, what's different?

Well, first, we're doing something most adults don't do. We attend THAT Monday night class ~ for YEARS! This is NOT a 6-week course to get in shape. It's almost a life-time commitment.

My friend Wanna who is 85 years old has been going for 25 years. Jo, who is 60, 24+ years; I've been going for 23+ years. Marga ~ around 20 years and during that time has earned a Ph.D!

How do we do that? We make a commitment ~ to ourselves. In 25 years, Wanna has missed on class. I've missed what I can count on one hand. We don't miss because we're tired, or "sick". We go anyway. I've gone, brought a blanket and sat through the whole class and/or, done what I could. Why you say? Why not just stay home? Because of the group energy! I've rarely gone to class where I didn't feel better upon leaving.

So, what else makes an exuberant animal? Someone who likes to play; who's up for whatever at whatever level they can participate! We might play with some body weight movment, Indian clubs, kettle bells, and ground engagement all within a 90 minute session.

We're all, at the very least, vegetarians with LOTS of raw! We do what we enjoy to create income; we laugh a lot; we play a lot; we live a lot! Life is a joy! Even when going through a cleanse, it's no big deal. We appreciate that our body's are capable of doing this!

We continuously study and learn. We write, we talk, we share.

None of us watch t.v., listen to the radio or read newspapers.

We take care of our responsibilities joyfully. We're constantly exploring new ways of living. We're seeing how others do it and how we can improve on it ~ for ourselves.

Life is good and continuously evolves to get better.

Enough for now ~
