Day 9 - Raw Potluck with Amazing Cancer Healing Testimony

Rate this Entry
I felt so amaaaazing today, happiness and energy sprinkled with moments of bliss! My meditations went really well too; I could feel a lot of energy and divine joy. That was a welcome change from feeling pretty blah for the last 3 or 4 days. I did gain a pound from yesterday, to 164.0, but that was after a 2 pound loss yesterday so it's OK.

Yesterday I made a raw carrot cake, which turned out very good except the frosting needs work. The cake itself was fantastic; it tasted like real carrot cake to me. I got the recipe from Living Cuisine, with some added inspiration from Ani Phyo's book. I left out the orange and lemon zest and switched the cardamom with cloves. Here it is:

I went to a raw food potluck today, there were 68 people there! I brought a raw pizza, like I made the other day:

It was all gone at the end of the potluck and several people told me how much they really liked it so that made me happy. here are a few photos of the potluck table:

Those were taken before it started and the table actually got much more full.

After eating we had a speaker. Her name was Teri and she had been diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer at age 33. They told her the tumor had been growing for about 15 years before it was diagnosed! She was told she had billions of cancer cells throughout her body. She lived in California with her husband and 2 kids and was pregnant at the time. She didn't really know anything other than conventional treatments at the time so she started chemotherapy 2 days later. Then she started radiation. They told her it wasn't working and she had to get radiation implants, during which her husband could only visit her for 5 minutes behind a lead shield. She said her nurses and doctors would cry and apologized for how much pain she was in and the fact that nothing was working. She lost her baby when she was 5 months along because of all the radiation. They then told her that it still wasn't working and there was no more that could be done and that she was going to die.

So this past Halloween they moved to our area because her husbands family was from here, and she thought she was going to die so she wanted her kids to have extended family around. Then she heard of the raw food diet, and she started juicing carrot and apple juice every hour. She she just got tests back 2 weeks ago and the tumor was totally gone and there were no cancer cells in her body! This was after 3 months of this diet, and 3 months before she had test results saying the cancer was still very active. Her doctor was stunned! She called her old doctors back in California and they were surprised to hear from her because according to them she should be dead. They didn't even believe her at first when she said the cancer was gone.

She said "My juicer was more affective than chemotherapy and radiation. Carrot juice was more powerful then a team of 20 oncologists. Even so-called incurable things are curable. It is doable; I did it!"

She also said that the treatments made her so sick and lose a lot of weight; she was near 80 lbs at one point. The raw foods actually helped her gain weight.

Wow! It was a really moving and emotional story. I was getting a little chocked up myself, especially just hearing that they kept telling her that there was no hope and she was going to die, only to be cured in 3 months by switching her diet. She said if she knew than what she does now she would have never let them give her any of their 'treatments.' It definitely reinforces how much I love and want to stay on raw foods!

My mom was also diagnosed with cancer (breast cancer) in 4/98, and rejected chemo and radiation and cured it holistically. She did change her diet somewhat but didn't know about raw foods then. BTW, she'd really liking the raw diet and is doing great so far on her 9th (well, 10th now) day too!

Thanks for reading and please come back again soon! :-)

    Carly,

I'm glad to hear your carrot cake turned out so well. I haven't had the chance to make one yet but hope to tomorrow. The food pictures look fantastic and the cancer stories are amazing. It just really amazes me as to how much the foods you eat can affect your health.

    Carly,
I'd be interested in this woman's contact info if she'd be ammenable to it. I was 14 weeks pregnant when I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I chose to keep my baby and now I'm interested in natural means of healing. I'd really love to connect with this woman who went through so much of the same thing as I.
