A Little of This; A Little of That

Fire Update and How We Stand..

Rate this Entry
As I said in my last post, we're at the beach. Had to get out as the smoke was so thick, we couldn't get away from it even in the house, all windows closed and the a/c on.

Out landlady called to see how we were. Seems she's out because of the fire in Hemet and now, she can't go back because of the Yucaipa fire. They went to Las Vegas to get away yet, LV is getting our smokey air and it doesn't move. It just settles in that valley. She was sounding really bad.

He and I are wondering if this bothers smokers as much as it does us.

Don't know if the fire, which has reached almost 50,000 acres has overrun Mt. Wilson or not. If so, then much communication will have gone down here including tv stations. It's our center for main communication towers.

Schools have closed because of the bad air quality. I've moved my clients to next week and hopefully can see them then.

I think we'll probably go home to pick up more necessities, then get out again. I'd love to be able to stay here yet, internet access is sporadic and I need it for this evening's Let's Talk Raw with Bunny Berry as well as tomorrow night's "Tap Into Your Ideal Weight" class. I've already put Bunny off twice for things I've had to do and can't, in good conscious, put her off again.

Two firefighters have died in this thing. They went off the side of the mountain.

I did a LOT of walking yesterday. Felt good, walking on the beach's footpath, then out to Trader Joe's for some water and a garden salad. Had my own dressing since I made a HUGE salad just before we ran out yesterday.

Going down to the water this morning before we head out.

Oh, they're predicting the fire may reach over 100,000 acres. So far, they've been really "lucky" in that, "only" two firefighters have died and only 3 homes destroyed. We drive by last year's fires and see so many homes destroyed in Malibu and Simi. Got to be devastating.

Well, gotta get Let's Talk Raw out and, do my appreciations. Have much to be thank-filled for.

bfn ~
