This is my Nineveh!

Day 17 - Fighting the downies...

Rate this Entry
Today started very very slow. I woke up in the middle of the night and just couldn't get back to sleep. A few hours tossing and turning later and I was finally comphy on my air mattress and off to dream land. (Yup. .. air mattress.. recently moved and lost pretty much everything I had but am hoping to get a new box spring and mattress in August.)

I ache something fierce today which is pretty lame, but I'm reminding myself it's for the better.

I haven't eaten anything yet, my stomach is feeling quite gross still. I'll cut my face with some lemon and honey added to a huge glass of water and then mix up a smoothie.

Today's plan had been to hike into town to check out Daily Juice, but I know I'm not up to that today. So instead I'm going to head to Whole Foods, grab that red bell pepper I need, some blueberries and another spaghetti squash. I'm also picking up strawberries and bananas for strawberries and creamy smoothie. (2 cups of strawberries, 1 mango and 1 banana.) Hopefully the mangos are still on sale!

I'm making marinara tonight. Very nommy, and more pate for salads today and tomorrow. I think for the most part today will be a cleaning day.. I have to mop my kitchen floor again.. 4 cleanings and it's still sticky from the demon possessed blender incident on Thursday, and get the laundry done for the week.

I'm also putting my dress up for sale on Craigs list. I was supposed to get married on July 25 but a lot of bad things happened, so needless to day, that didn't happen. Things have been really tight around here cash wise because of it, so my wedding dress, which I know won't fit anymore because it's too big, and my party dress which is also too big, have both got to go!

I've been procrastinating. There's still some emotional attachment there. I think this may be contributing to the downies I'm dealing with!

Okay okay! Up and at em time! Have a great day everyone!

Sounds like you've had a lot on your plate lately. Good for you for keeping healthy through all of this!

Oh! And I just saw that you are interested in the cheddar dip recipe. It is from Alissa's book. It is as follows:

    1/2 cup pine nuts
    1/2 cup macademia nuts
    1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1 and 1/2 cups red bell pepper
    1/2 peeled lemon
    2 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon Bragg Liquid Aminos (I used Nama Shoyu)

Blend in food processor until creamy.

I used my Vita-mix, because I do not have a food processor yet. Also, I included some diced onion. It is so good that my 17-year-old son, very SAD-eating, wondered why you can't buy such tasty things that are also very nutritious already made! I wonder that myself.

    Hope you enjoy! :)
