Good morning Sunshine!
The first week was long, full of ups and downs, but after last nights produce trip I'm feeling a little more up! Today, with no overtime at work since it's our Friday I even got to wake up a wee bit after the sun came up. THAT was amazing because not only did I sleep a full 8 through the night, I woke up a few minutes before my alarm went off on my own. I still hit the snooze button and enjoyed my warm fuzzy bed and sleepy black cat who was curled up almost on my head and purring.
Kit on Detox and Exercise
For the TMI - I'm still putting out more than I'm putting in and I have to tell you that I'm glad my random bouts with irritable bowl are fewer and fewer because that stuff coming out the other end during detox is most foul. I'm starting to break out but I won't let that get me down. Hard things I'm facing include the urge not to pick or scratch or itch and just leave it alone. (No, I won't Rick Roll you this morning, I can do that later.)
I'm also experiencing random cramps in my feet, particularly my toes and up my heels, likely from the muscles shedding some unpleasant things, but am glad to report my healing right quad which I reinjured (am prone to tearing them) is finally making it past the swimming and stretching phase. I'll be hitting the treadmil tonight after work for a fast paced walk, maybe even open up to a light jog if it feels right.
[U]Kit on Food/U]
One of the most important things for me is knowing that even though I am going RAW and struggling with temptations which I'm praying about, I know I have choices. I keep a few of my favorite SAD options around in case of emergency. Why? If I have a craving and give, I'd rather give in and have what I generally crave on hand than have to go to market for it. If I had a craving and went to market, I'd probably cave and give up.
With this in mind, and still consuming about 90% raw, last night I actually had about 1/3 a cup of cooked pasta with raw spaghetti sauce on it. OHH Saladacco.. soon you'll be in my presence.
I digress. Yesterdays coffee left me wired all day which was fantastic, the things it did to my tummy and put back into my body that I was trying to rid myself of.. not so tastic other than failtastic.. hey everything in moderation.. for now!
This week I increase my total daily raw content to 95%. Less room for error, *and* considering the pasta sent my sugar through the roof .. and that even eating fruit it was normalizing (I was fasting on my own below 150 which is amazing and on my way to the low 100's)... I'm learning the differences and feeling them much stronger every day.
Sooo in preparation for today I made banana papaya pudding last night. Straight out of Alissa's book, but added a hand full of blue berries and a squeeze of a lemon. Can you say nommy? I froze about 1/3 of it and ate a bit of it as icecream last night. I'm taking it to work today for breakfast and am glad I have more fruit to make more of this breakfast/dessert treat later this week.
How Kit Feels
Kit feels amazing even with the few miss-steps through the week. My current weight is listed as the weight I last was on a scale at and the pictures are from when I went 90%. I can tell you that since I started transitioning that I've already moved to the last notch on my belt and am in need of new punches on it to keep my pants up. I'm also more often than not in my yoga pants because I need the draw string and am in between my previous standard size 12 and 10 and am very much looking forward to putting on my favorite old Old Navy jeans without feeling like a stuffed sausage!
Looking forward to a shiny, rawsome second week....
