Frugal raw!

Moving Right Along...

Things are improving out here in beautiful east TN. My Aunt is able to drive herself around now, which is a huge boon to her sense of independence!! The unhappy soul was going stir-crazy.

DH and I are actively looking for better jobs, and he wants to drop some serious weight as quickly as possible. He's gained 50 pounds or so this past year and is miserable. So miserable, he's willing to give raw another try. (to get it straight, he's married to me = so he has his own built-in personal raw vegan chef, lifestyle coach, successful raw author, and I am the queen of frugality...you would think that there is nothing hard about doing this now, wouldn't you?)

He's got some major food addictions. It's going to be interesting if nothing else;) He told me yesterday to just make the food and make him eat it if he's picking at it. I'll be coming up with new recipes, no doubt, so stay tuned!!

I'm going to be transitioning him this week - we started yesterday, and he did okay. Today will be more raw, which will increase as we finish out some cooked things we can't afford to just throw away. He's getting a smoothie when he gets up and I'll be packing a raw lunch for him to take to work this afternoon. I'll allow him a cooked meal of leftovers tonight when he gets home.

I'm also charting his physical activity. Yesterday's starting point was none-too-impressive, but what else would you get if you spontaneously tested a couch potato of a full year's growth? Granted, he's had to take it easy due to the pelvic fracture, but it's time for him to start working towards rehabilitation. Last night was just push-ups and sit-ups. Of which, he managed 10 each military-style. He does plenty of walking due to his current job - he is a cart pusher at Walmart. Like I said - looking for better.
