Training Day 3

Rate this Entry
Saturday 6/27

I'm glad I went to the mall yesterday. I briefly considered just staying home curled into bed so I wouldn't have to move. That hip was a real bear. At the mall I walked around 11,000 steps and by mid-day the hip was feeling better, however, by the end of the day I was limping again though not nearly as badly as the early morning.

Today it's feeling much better but not quite fully back to normal.

Anyway, back to the mall. DS10 and I had lunch at Ruby Tuesday. I had the salad bar and got the chips, guacamole and picco de gallo for an appetizer. DS10 ate the chips and I ate the rest. Their guac and picco is SO good from there... very fresh.

My original reason for going to the mall was to find a strapless bra for a sundress that I bought for the July 4th party. I wasn't successful though. I have the hardest time finding bras to fit. Grrr... that drives me nuts. I did, however, go across the street to Dick's Sporting Goods and buy a 10 lb. Kettlebell. I've been wanting one for awhile now. I stood in the store forEVER debating on whether it was really worth it to spend $30 on it when I finally decided to suck it up and just buy it. I'm glad I did. I played around with it when I got home and have deemed it my new favorite toy. I also went over to Five Below and bought a Safari book and a medium resistance exercise tube to use on the rebounder.

On the way home we stopped at the health food store where I picked up some MSM and some Garden of Life B-Complex vitamins. I haven't mentioned anything to anyone but I've been losing a lot of hair lately. DH mentioned that I was shedding all over creation but I didn't say anything about it. I also noticed that the half-moons on my fingernails are all gone except the ones on my thumbs. I distinctly remember having them on my pointer and middle finger before going raw. I remember because I hated the look of them and wanted them to go away. Little did I know that they were an indicator of B12. I read about that a few weeks ago on RFT and then researched it on my my own. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I have a B12 deficiency, hence the B-Complex vitamins. If I don't notice a distinct improvement over the next few weeks or if I see that the issues are getting worse I'll either go to the doctor to have my levels professionally checked and perhaps get a B12 shot or go get some liquid B12 to supplement. Notwithstanding all of the research, the fingernails and the hair falling out, I've sat quietly thinking about my health and have felt deeply that the B12 is a problem.

Anyway, today DH is going to a funeral and our neighbors want DS10 and I to go with them to a pool party. I really, REALLY don't want to go but we'll see how the day plays out.

As for training today, I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Again, we'll just have to see how the day plays out. I know I won't be doing a long hike but I'm pretty sure I'll at least walk a little.
