A Little of This; A Little of That

What is the benefit? Fit or Fat?

Rate this Entry
Recently someone was decrying how much money some raw food advocates are making on selling product (which, of course, they don't have to purchase) and today, I awakened thinking ~ what is the benefit?

In marketing, that's what they tell us to tell people. What the benefit is to purchasing what we are looking to sell, whether it's coaching services, product, books, etc. What will the purchaser receive from buying from you?

Well, those who are selling all the packaged products, the superfoods, etc. have sold people on the benefits of their products. They've told us we'll feel better, we need it because, blah, blah, blah and many buy into it. They've also told us that we too can make money selling their product.

But, what about what we do to ourselves? When we go to the grocery store or out shopping or even when we look in our refridgerators... before purchasing or eating, do we ask ourselves ~ "What is the benefit?" We KNOW what the benefits are to purchasing THEIR products and we decry them making money off us (well, I don't because I don't support them) but, when purchasing/eating other things ~ that cooked food we so desire ~ do we ask ~ what are the benefits? WHY are we putting this stuff in our mouths? Will it make us healthier? fuller? taste good? What? Will it make us Fit or Fat? AND, is it a momentary thing or will it sustain us in the long run?

Next time you eat something you'll wish you hadn't, ask yourself, Fit or Fat? What is the intent in your eating it? And, what is the benefit?

I know for me, it's as though my monkey mind is a little child. If I tell it "no", it wants something even more. Weird little kid. You'd think it didn't belong to me because I certainly have no control over it. Just have to trick it sometimes and be clear on the benefits and my intentions in eating raw.
