A Little of This; A Little of That

Fit or Fat, Sat. June 13, '09

O.k., more dilemmas.

For quite awhile now I've been looking to eliminate 25-30 pounds of excess weight yet, really haven't put much focus on it until the last couple of weeks when I started my Fit or Fat program.

How that works of course is, when I look in the fridge and hear HIS food calling my name, I bring awareness to do I want to be Fit or Fat? The answer of course is....

As far as food goes, I've been very good! As far as training goes, I was doing VERY good on walking, not so good on playing with clubs, mace, etc. Up comes Raw Spirit Festival. At last RSF I dropped 5# in the 3 days I was there (plus one up and one back). Gained it back and dropped it since the and maintained that until now.

This year I go there and come back having dropped only 2 pounds. What's the dif? I dunno other than, possibly, I ate less last year. They provided one salad per day and after the festival, we went to a raw food place and had dinner. In the mornings, all I had was something to drink (that I can remember). I also did a lot of walking as the booths were spread out.

At this one, I was eating salads, pates, fruit, truffles and more salads. I also walked quite a bit and sat quite a bit.

So, here's what's really weird. Since I got home I've been pretty lazy. I've not walked at all (other than about 1500 or so steps that I do daily anyway ~ well, yesterday I did about 6,000) and my main food has been avos, olives and cherries (although two days ago I did make veggie wraps ~ with avos and olives.) Today I got on the scale and I'm down one more pound!

Previously, when I was weight training I'd eliminate excess fat within 6 weeks to 2 months. In the summers, I'd eliminate 6-8 pounds just because I was eating more fruit and salads.

So, what's the answer? I don't get that it's not eating fat. IF that were the answer, then it wouldn't have taken my teacher 7 or so years to eliminate 70 or so pounds WITH working out EVERY SINGLE DAY!

It's weird. I can't find the truth here. I eat a lot of fat, don't move much and eliminate weight; I eat a lot of fruit; walk a lot and maintain weight.

O.k., I'm thinking the component here is, greens. Both times, lots of greens (not as in smoothies). For the next 3 days, I'm going to focus on have wraps every day. Since there's LOTS of fruit in the fridge, I'll have to do that too. Already did over 5,000 steps and will continue moving because that is an ABSOLUTE necessity in the FIT program. Our bodies are made to MOVE!

I'll get back to you on this.

I'll be here "listening". I've got 25-30 lbs that has to go. I find taking off weight in Winter very difficult. Now is the time to get it done!

I'm with you on the moving it. Gotta keep moving it. I am weight training three days a week and I walk my dog and go for bike rides but if I would just get on a treadmill or eliptical and do some serious heart raising cardio I could drop weight. So maybe walking with out the dog and stepping up the speed or doing some hills on the bike.

And I second the greens too. I find they are the hardest to keep up. Don't love them. But they are probably the most important component. Just do it. Fat or Fit?!!

Your original post about fat or fit really motivated me to take a look at each thing I do and ask does this lead me to fat or fit? I AM choosing more fit. So thanks.
