A Little of This; A Little of That

Fat to Fit ~ weight bearing and more!

Rating: 2 votes, 5.00 average.
So, I left the lawyers in charge of the probate issues. One funny thing is, my bro's best friend lied to the court telling them he didn't know where I was or what my name was and that I was a foster daughter. All the time he knew how to get a hold of me (he'd called my cousin the day my bro died and she's got contact info), where I was and that, like my non-blood brother, I was adopted. He was hoping to be put in charge of the estate. Well, that's not going to happen.

Got my steps in yesterday ~ 10,700+!!! Good day. Then, went to class and trained with the heavy clubs. Yikes! 90 minutes of training! I was whipped but recovered quickly and got a good night's rest.

What was fun last evening was I had this GREAT aha moment. Weird that it didn't happen before but, it finally sunk in how using clubs, mace and kettlebells are so much better than lifting dumbells and barbells which I did for MANY years to the point of being asked to partner in competitions.

The difference is, in weight lifting, one isolates their muscles instead of using the whole body. I sort of got that about 20 years ago when my training partner went to work with his father who did construction. He was amazed that these older, skinnier, wiry guys had more stamina and strength than he, a body builder who trained (with me) 4-6 hours a day, sometimes 6-7 days a week! Reason was, they knew how to use their whole body to do the work, not just their arms.

Same with kettlebell/mace/club play. One really has to learn how to use leg drive and core activation rather than muscling the equipment. It's actually kind of interesting to watch vids of people who go from weight lifting to kb's, clubs or mace because you can see they are using them as they would free weights instead of how they are meant to be used.

For some reason last night I REALLY got that!

After our club training we did some body weight movement and called it a night. I came home, had two ripe peaches, watched a vid, was in bed at 11, up about 5:40 ~ out for a walk in the mountains. 5500+steps done already.

Much of today will be spent getting ready for leaving tomorrow morning, heading out to Raw Spirit Festival!!! Kind of excited. Nice to get away with Him for a couple of days. He'll help me set up my booth on Thursday and be leaving on Friday to head back down as the women who are sharing the motorhome come in.

Life is good!

10,700+!!! That's is fanfreakintastic! And you are already on your way to that again!

Been thinking, I'm up in Fresno this weekend and driving back to San Diego on Sunday. Perhaps I could carve out a little time to swing by Santa Barbara and meet you in person. What say you?

Make it happen. I'll be in my booth from about 9 or 10 a.m. until 5 or 6 p.m. but, I've got a friend helping out. If you want, give me a call on my cell and we'll see if there's some way we can hook up ~ 818-389-8388. I'm speaking at 10 Sunday, main stage. If you can get in on a 1-day ticket... maybe consider doing that?

Yeah, getting those steps in! Walking to the bank in a few. Should give me a couple thousand more steps. At 6300+ now.

My trainer has me doing kettlebells along with the other stuff we're doing. I'm so weak still, we're doing more machines than free weights. But, I'm working on it, and that's what matters most. :) So far he has me doing the swing throughs (both with both hands & one handed) and figure 8's coming through from both the front and the back.

I have a love-hate relationship with those kettlebells. I love what they're doing for my body, hate how hard it is to do them right now. ;)
