When did I become the only responsible one?

Rate this Entry
I am wondering where I was at when this election occurred because I definatly missed it.

My father, brother and nieces are going to drive me to drive me out of mind. This week with all of them it has been very challenging to say the least. Since my dad has been gone the garbage/recycles have not been put out to pick up(we are going on 2 weeks now), I have to go hunting and searching for the mail because the kids are putting it all over the house, the birds have not been tended to like they are suppose to, and on the days my brother is suppose to be cooking that is not happening so the 11 year took it upon herself to cook herself a carmel dessert for her dinner and set a bunch of napkins on fire. She also has flooded the washer, and "lost" or "forgot" about school paperwork that was suppose to be turned in with a check so I had to go over there at almost 10 pm at night to sign checks. This is paperwork she has had for over a week too. And she still forgot to turn it in.

My brother is over 30 years old, my dad is 66, my oldest niece is 15, and the other one will be 12 next month. Add them all up and you would get the mentality of a 5 year old. It is very difficult to try and teach by example to the kids what a grown adult should be doing. My brother has not worked in years, lives in my fathers basement and plays world of warcraft all night, daytime is sleeptime for him. My dad has lost his mind and all sense of direction, he is getting married to his first cousin who could be my older sister. I think I must be adopted - that is the only answer I can think of at the moment.

Enough ranting about that. Atleast my husband is an adult..THANK YOU GOD ! My one piece of sanity through all of this.

I did work out yesterday and felt really great after. Today I have to say my stomach muscles are sore. I love pilates!

Morning:
I juicied 4 large navel oranges and 1 small mandarine for breakfast. I did not measure but from the looks of the glass I would say it was about 20 ounces

Lunch
Green juice (thank you Solla on facebook)
cucumber + zucchini + celery + cilantro + lime + ginger (I would imagine that this would also be good with a bit of apple in it) . I liked it very much. Again I did not measure - I would say it made a good 18 ounces.

I have not decided yet what dinner will be. A large veggie juice really sounds good

There is a lot to deal with. I don't mean to make light of your situation, but I have to wonder if your Dad has really lost his sense of direction or if he has made his escape. ;)

LOL Knitster ...I have thought the same thing to myself over these past few weeks. That is why a part of me really can not blame him. Those 3 make me want to pull my hair out on a daily basis. Not fair for someone who has worked so hard all their lives to retire to be challenged with. Besides being lazy my brother has no other excuse for not working. My parents even spent a great deal of money to send him to a very good college (something my sister and I were not offered) which he never finished. I worked 2 jobs to help my parents pay off that second mortgage. The kids are my sisters but have always lived with my parents. I am used to my siblings being self centered and selfish that is the way it has always been, but never my parents. Out of all the people in the world my father could find it had to be someone who is ugly inside and out and a family member which in many states is illegal

Thank you ladies for your thoughts and support during this challenge.
