Three a Day

Rate this Entry
I'm still going strong with the 3-meal a day plan, and no snacking. The dinners are indulgent and need to be pared down a bit. I've been eating a lot for the evening meal, but nothing for at least 3 hours (usually 4-5 hours) before bedtime.

If your fasting , you may not want to read any further.

Breakfast: Dessert smoothie; almond milk, dates, yacon syrup, frozen banana, cacao, lucuma, and vanilla seeds

Lunch: Green smoothie; chard, kale, romaine, orange, frozen strawberries, hemp seeds, and green food powders. Five turkish apricots and several bites (taste tests) of the sweet treat I was making, turkish apricots, almonds, cashews, dates, vanilla, pink salt blended in the food processor. Definitely a winner.

Dinner: Small bowl of leftover coleslaw-waldorf; cabbage, carrot, apple, raisins, pecans and my house dressing blended creamy with cashews and pine nuts. Also a green salad, romaine with blood orange and tangerine slices and a plain house dressing. Spicy pumpkin seeds, and onion rings. A couple apricot almond balls.

The onion rings are interesting. It is a recipe from Raw Revolution Diet. After soaking the rings in sea salt and water they are coated with a blend or oranges and sesame seeds, then dehydrated. Since I like onions I think they are pretty special.

I won't go into everything I ate the other days that I haven't posted, but there was a White Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake involved.

I'm feeling a little stiff today. Despite the rain yesterday I worked in the yard. I still had 7 ferns along the front of the house that needed last year's fronds trimmed off before the new growth starts. It took over three hours of bending, stooping, squatting and heaving. I stuffed the yard waste container full. It feels good to finally finish those dang ferns. There is a lot more work to do out there this Spring, weeding, dividing and transplanting. I have to do it now before it is too late. I'll be nursing sore muscles for the next few weeks. And burning off the calories. Maybe I can lose a couple pounds despite all the raw delectables I eat.

wow - I bet your yard looks great! No wonder you're sore, that was a ton of work.

Way to go on the 3 meals a day. That's a huge accomplishment!!! I bet a couple weeks ago, you wouldn't have thought you could do that. Good for you - I hope it's inspiring for you and makes you confient in yourself :)

    Your food looks so scrumptoulicious!

That's so great you are still doing 3 meals a day! I made a Broccoli salad the other day and it's good too. Similar to your cabbage/waldorf.
