Newbie Goes to WHole Foods Market - Help My List

Rate this Entry
Good morning all,
This weekend I am accompanying a friend to a Trader Joe's and then to Whole Foods Market. I have started a grocery list, but was wondering if anyone wanted to add "staples" that should be in a well-rounded raw food pantry. Oh and does anyone know if they sell raw foods in bulk?

Here is what I have so far:

raw chickpeas
raw lentils
raw oats / breakfast cereal
raw flax seeds
nut milk mesh bag
raw almonds
raw cashews
agave nector
almond milk

I would be surprised if they have raw almond milk. I have never seen it sold anywhere.

The Whole Foods by me sells raw nuts and seeds in bulk. The Trader Joes by me is really small and doesn't carry anything raw. Hopefully you have a better one by you!

You could add raw cacao, tahini, Braggs apple cider vinegar and Braggs liquid aminos (or Nama Shoyu)

I would also add pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, & sunflowers seeds

I personally haven't found raw chickpeas or lentils

I don't know how much you want to buy vs. make yourself, but Whole Foods carries a lot of pre-made raw stuff: Lydia's Organics bars, crackers & cereal; flax crackers by Matter of Flax; bars & cereal by Freeland Foods; and cookies & cereal by Laughing Giraffe.

    Have a great time :)
