Day 65

Rate this Entry
I have to say, I'm a little bummed this morning. I shouldn't be, I know that, but I am. The scale is not moving like I would like it to. Grrr. I shouldn't feel like such a slave to the weight loss but I really, really just want to hit that 160 goal and move on to the next one. I know I'm doing everything right; eating 100% raw, exercising, drinking water etc. so I need to just stop fretting.

Anyway, onto other news. My body was very, very pleased with the primal playing I did yesterday. In fact, I'm hearing all about it from some muscles I clearly haven't used in awhile. Yeep! I really enjoyed crab walking up and down the stairs and doing push-ups all the way up the steps. Crunches in the snow were a blast too.

Today school is closed again so I'm going to spend some time with Quentin. There is some housework to be done and then I think we'll play some board games and read some more of Inkheart together.

Exercise today:
30 push-ups going up the stairs
5 X crab walking backwards up the stairs
20 jumping jacks
60 crunches
30 min. step aerobics
some primal play using a dumbell instead of kettlebell
1 min. Hunza

Food today:
banana ice cream w/pineapple cream and sliced strawberries
fajita salad (spinach, marinated peppers, onions & mushrooms, avocado, tomatoes)
thick slice of pineapple

Contessa! That's great that you are doing so much exercise like that. The weight loss will come, right now your body has just decided that there are bigger priorities. A thought: put the scale in the closet for the rest of the week. Let yourself forget about it until a good amount of time has passed. You will see a difference.

I am the same way. I just told myself this morning that I need to just weigh in once a month or at most every two weeks. I do not want the scale to own me and determine how my day will go.

With all that working out you might be losing some fat and gaining muscle. That would be nice! Have a great snow day. :)

I hear ya sister! that darn scale can be such a blessing and a curse. When it's moving down, it gives me drive, motivation, a sense of accomplishment, pride, etc. and then when it stops (or moves up...eek!) I get frustrated and have to resist the urge to say screw it and give up.

Actually, that is what happens to me a lot because my head says "if I'm working this hard and doing everything right, and still not seeing results...then what's the point? I might as well just eat a load of crap." and then I do, and then I gain weight back, and then I become discouraged with myself.

Grr! I hate this pattern. I don't want to do it anymore!
Let's stick together - let's push through the plateau and keep moving forward :)

p.s. how did you make pineapple cream?
