Day 56

Rate this Entry
Blarg... I could have slept another 6 hrs. this morning and been perfectly happy.

Yesterday was so much fun! The show was absolutely wonderful. I would love to go back and see Stomp! next month too but I'm not sure that's going to happen.

In the morning before we left I found that I just wasn't hungry so I didn't eat anything. By the time we arrived in Kitchen Kettle though my stomach was growling big time. We walked around Kitchen Kettle for awhile but being so cold and windy it just wasn't all that enjoyable. Around lunch time we went to Diener's to eat. They have an okay but not great salad bar. I had 2 plates of mediocre dry salad and then I pulled a banana out of my purse to munch on. We did a little more shopping and then headed to the show around 2:30. Mid-show I started getting hungry again and my head was hurting a bit. I pulled out a Lara bar and took a few bites while everyone else ate popcorn, pretzels and candy. (I didn't know you could eat during the show) For dinner we went to Cracker Barrel, which was slight torture. First, I love, love, LOVE Cracker Barrel's home cooking type food. The smells were a little nerve-wracking but nothing too terrible. They had NOTHING except a side salad that was raw. They didn't have any sort of fresh fruit at all and every single one of their salads come with more SAD stuff on them than raw veggies. I just went with the side salad (and gave the croutons to DS9) and, to my surprise, I was perfectly happy. The purple onions made the salad taste so good. After I finished it I had the rest of the Lara bar and called it a day.

The biggest issue I had was water consumption. I just can't drink a lot of water when we go places like that or we have to stop a dozen times to use the bathroom. I didn't drink anything before we left so by lunch time I was starting to get a dehydration headache.

My MIL made me feel good though. She took one look at me and started gushing about how much weight I've lost (18 lbs. total). I know how much better I look and feel right now but man, it's always nice when someone else notices.

Today is church, the farmer's market, BJ's, hopefully the Asian market to look for coconuts and then maybe a movie before the Oscar's. I'm not making anything special for me for the Oscar's because I just don't want anything. I'll probably just have a salad or a portabello sandwich.

Exercise today:

Food today:

2 bananas
kiwi
durian pudding
open-faced portabello sandwich

I have that same issue with water consumption. If I have a green smoothie, then go on a drive or off on some errands, I have to know where the bathrooms are!

Oh, and awesome that you could sit at a restaurant you love AND in an audience with people eating popcorn and candy and be comfortable with who you are. I think that is grand!

Congrats on passing up the sad food. Sounds like you are doing well. Do you like Durian? I have no idea where to find one - maybe in Toronto. I also know how frustrating it is to have a small bladder - or at least I figure that is what it is. Aaaargh!
