Wow, so okay has been about 2 weeks since I last blogged. Let me back track to document what occurred during that timeframe as I don't want to miss a beat.
Started to back off the GS's and replaced them with a grapefruit/lemon/cayenne pepper/coconut oil concoction that was recommended here as a "fat burner" juice. I fell in love with the tart spicy sweet taste, but after the 3rd day I felt like my energy wasn't as "high" as on GS's. I welcomed the change of flavor also, but it was really stirring up some weird emotional detox issues for me (in retrospect, may be due to the grapefruit getting to the stored toxins in the bodyfat cells and releasing some old sh*t...that's a technical term, by the way.) :) Regardless, I kept on starting my days with the juice mixture, sometimes ending them also. It effected my sleep, no more waking up prior to my alarm or sleeping as soundly. Not to mention, my emotions were def not as even keeled, and my energy was tanking. I wasn't blazing through my Zumba classes like I had been on 60oz+ of GS a day either.
Finally by the end of a week or so, my fiance brings my awareness to the drink vs. the GS's I had been having. Pouting, over it as by this point am addicted to this insane juicy concoction that at first sip I swear my cheeks turned inside out from, I give up after a week or so and return to my Vitamixer GS's.
As a sidenote, before I forget, I have also been having a metallic taste in my mouth off & on during the entire time (Jan-present.) Some say it's from any/all medications you've ever ingested, but all say it's a sign of detox, so am living with this dirty metal flavor *auugh*
Okay, so where was I? Ah yes, my return back to the land of GS's and such. So, returned to GS's implemented back into my diet, though daily, isn't 2 full VM containers worth like it was when I first began. Why? well as of last Friday, 6th of Feb, I finally got Alissa's DVD's & her book in the mail. Of course I wanted to and DID try about a dozen different recipes within the first 2 days of owning these lovely treats. :) So, my "missing the chewing of foods" as well as, the different varieties of textures of foods vs. pulverizing it in the VM is/was quenched! hurray!
Now let me also interject and say that I am feeling torn on which path to proceed on as I am reading 2 other books that are definitely the other end of the spectrum when it comes to raw. Yes, i dare to say 80/10/10 and the Sunfood Diet. To compare the 2 they are in alignment with one another, but def NOT with all these gourmet-ish raw goodies that Alissa's blessed us with sharing. *sigh*
I have always attempted to be a perfectionist and not wanting to screw up anything I've tried, so of course I'm beating myself up thinking to myself "good job Laura, you didn't get all the facts and just dove head first into the shallow end of the pool with this drastic change in your diet!" I really have been hard on myself this past week being in my head about this. So again fiance to the rescue reminds me to be gentle on myself, and do what feels right for me. *Bless his heart*
So, here I am, have decided to utilize Alissa's way until I feel comfortable enough making the transition to not have the "need" for such fatty raw foods or "gourmet-ish" styled foods. Besides I am getting Alissa's Level 1 RF Cert next weekend and plan on doing level 2. I really want to implement this component into my fitness/training business when I relocate to Australia.
One more thing before I close up this chapter: I have also scheduled a series of 6 colon hydrotherapy sessions. I have had 2 this past week, another is on schedule for Saturday so will be 3rd within 10 days time. Really felt it was/is necessary to assist in releasing old "stuff"...in more ways than one. :)
*stepping off stage now*...until next time...
love, peace and light my friends....
