Converts on the way?

I've never been much of a believer in active missionizing. I rarely find it to be effective or permanent to argue people into particular behavior. Instead, I believe in visibly living my values—if someone likes what they see, they will ask. Then it comes from them.

Last night I made raw pad thai, date nut torte and mock salmon pate (all from Alissa's book). My fiancé was blown away! He kept asking if it would be ok if he took more? He didn't want to leave me without food. He also said that if I never cooked for him again and just made food like this, he would be happy. Sweet!

Also my mom is curious. She keeps worrying about portion control and counting points (she has been doing weight watchers for years and years). One thing that helped was that we figured out how many points were in the entire batch of mock salmon pate, she was able to see that even if she ate the whole thing it would not be so many points...

How encouraging that your loved ones enjoyed your raw food! My daughter once told me I paid attention to what you did, not what you said" I believe this is the best way to "sell" people on raw food too, although I am still not the best example of a raw foodist - yet! Isn't Alissa's book and DVD fabulous?:)

I know what you're saying. Just the other day, my co-worker/neighbor was really curious about raw cooking. I'm not sure she'd every convert to raw (she dates an executive chef from a gourmet restaurant!) but she did ask me to whip up a raw dinner. She loved it though! Raw spring rolls. Yummms.
