SuperFood Saturday

I didn't keep track of what I ate for a couple days. Too much work. And I really didn't want to be accountable. It was a lot of raw chocolate treats. In between eating all that chocolate I managed to make some juice, green smoothies and salad. Correction: I didn't eat ALL the chocolate, there is still plenty left.

Today's choices:

Breakfast: grapefruit

Lunch: Green SuperFood Smoothie - chard, romaine, orange, frzn banana, 2 T. each hemp seeds, gojis, and VitamineralGreen, 1 T. each spirulina, chia seeds, and hempseed oil, 2 t. each kelp powder, lucuma, mesquite and MSM, 1 t. maca, 1 date. I think that was everything, I opened the cupboard and fridge and just went crazy with it.

That was the last of the mineral green so I went to the Raw Vegan Source and stocked up. Now that I have a dehydrator and am loaded up on chocolates I was able to stick to the basics and not buy a bunch of expensive treats. I almost stuck to my list. Besides the VitamineralGreen I was completely out of almonds, cashews, olive oil, blue agave, hempseeds, toothpaste and honey. Also picked up a bag of wheatgrass juice powder, sesame seeds, and a packet of Didi's Mac'n Cheese Crackers. They are $4.29 for 4 little crackers! I really need to work on my own version of those.

Snack: Mac'n Cheese Crackers. Ate them while in the car on the way home. I hate eating in the car. I always feel the people that see me eating are thinking, "The fat lady shouldn't be eating those cookies." I feel like yelling, "Hey, it's health food!" I know that it's silly to worry about what people think of you, because you would be surprised to find how seldom they are actually thinking of you. Or something like that.

Stopped at PCC on the way home for a coconut and curly kale. Didn't stick to the list this time. Ended up with a bunch of other stuff, too. Ate a few dried figs on the way home. Soon as I got home I opened the cashews to soak some for Cheesy Curly Kale Chips. Snacked on a couple handfuls of cashews before dinner.

Dinner: Smoothie - juice of 4 carrots put in the vitamix with an apple, dandelion greens, wedge of lemon, and wheatgrass powder.

Dessert: 2 of the Chocolate, Chocolate Brownies. (See my previous journal entry.) These are amazing. They have the taste and texture of a really good brownie. As far as I can remember that is. ;) It's the macadamias that make them so super. I'll probably have a few bites of Fudge Pie later.

My binge days are winding down. My ankles were very swollen all through this period. My hormone problem is settling down now. I'll come out of this okay. I had to fight off some serious cooked cravings. Maybe the cacao set them off, but I think it was the other way around. Having the cacao kept me from going cooked. Whatever, it's almost over and I'm feeling the need for a lot of intense superfoods and smoothies.

There is still a fast, or at least a modified fast in my future. Next Sunday, the 8th I am beginning a 3 day juice fast around the full moon of February 9. I'm going to try and go light on the juice and heavy on the water that day. It will be the first time I've done that. It's a start.

Well, sounds like we've both been on a bender........but, you kept it raw and I slipped up a lil' bit. Not extremely bad. I was telling hubby today that maybe I should quite trying to be 100% To avoid feeling guilty and really saying "Well, I already......"
I need to try your brownies but, first I think I want to stay away from sugar for a bit.
    Good job staying raw!
I am going to try to make the Cheesy Curly Kale Chips!

You should do whatever it takes to not feel guilty! Maybe if you gave yourself permission to have those things that slip you up they would lose their appeal and power...? Is it your intuition telling you this or is it the soy mocha talking. ;)

btw: You had a great 100%day today!...(Oops, I guess that was yesterday.)

Yea....LOL! That was yesterday. I posted today's. Anyway, that's probably a good a idea. I think I will continue with practicing "High Raw" and striving to be Vegan. I intuitively feel that once I fully embrace being Vegan the 100% Raw will follow with out struggle.

BTW, I'm going to attmept the fast with you. I will attempt juices and smoothies. :) It's just 3days right? I'm sure I can do 3 days ;)

Yes, just 3 days. It's not a huge commitment and success will feel good. I'm counting on the pull of the moon to help me detox. And I'm counting on the feeling of lightness and success to help me make good choices after the fast.
