Well here's the long and short of it. My fam has agreed to transition from a MAJOR carnivore diet to a Raw Foods diet. Rather than throw everything I had in the kitchen away I decided to progress gradually. As I ran low on things I would replace them with Raw alternatives. It worked out great with one set back. The closer I got to thinking right (what were putting in our bodies is who we are) the harder it became to prepare the meals that were in the kitchen. We got our freezer down to one Turkey and I just couldn't bring myself to cook it. I thought about giving it away to someone but couldn't do that either. I feel like it's just going to aide in their poor nutrition choices. Of course if they don't know any different does it really aide in anything??? I could cook it and give it to some homeless people. The only issue with that is that I don't know any homeless people. Then I am reminded...do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Would I want someone gifting me something that was ultimately going to hurt me event though I don't know it and it feels my stomach today??? I'm stuck there. So there it sits, in the freezer waiting for me to make a decision...maybe tomorrow I'll have a better idea of what to do with it????
So my fam: 1 3-year-old girl, 1 7-year-old boy, 1 9-year-old boy my husband and I. We have had some great discussions as a fam as to why we are going to go Raw and I have really be impressed by the kids. As I said earlier, we WERE major carnivores. On Sundays we would have at least two types of meat on the table with Rice, and a few other processed things, but meat, fish, poultry were MUST haves. The biggest issues with all of this is that everyone in our fam has some sort of health issue that was being exacerbated by the foods we consumed on a daily basis. Cancer, Diabetes, ADHD, Low Immune system issues, over weight, no energy, headaches, leg pain, etc. The only one not suffering from any health issues was our 3-year-old, Jayden. Because she is a female, it is just a matter of time before our diet caught up with her as well. That killed me to think about! How could I willingly volunteer my children and husband up for a life of continued health issues and all that comes with it? I couldn't!!! I just couldn't!!!
So our journey with Raw Foods begins. If you read this, please pray for us. If you have any encouraging words, words of wisdom, etc., please, please, please post 'em.
