Day 3 and 4- challenges and triumphs

Happy New Year!

I can not believe how rapidly raw transforms one's body when transitioning directly from a SAD diet. My energy has shot through the roof, cravings have disappeared, pounds are already melting away and my skin already looks more healthy. I feel fantastic overall.

I shouldn't claim to be entirely raw as there have been a few moments of non-raw- we went out to dinner last night (asian cuisine) and after a frustrating few minutes attempting to explain to a horrible waiter what I'd like to have, I ended up just ordering a plate of steamed veggies. Not raw, but fortunately, they arrived so fresh and so lightly steamed as to be close enough for the situation. The best part was looking at my partner's fatty pork-laden meal and having _no_ desire to partake of it. That is perhaps the biggest surprise- it looked completely unappealing.

Last night I visited whole foods for some essentials and purchased my first larabars. Yum! I've decided to use them only for emergencies or as an occasional treat food, focusing more on bulky whole foods, but they are quite tasty and will be excellent for those on the go moments. I had some frustration finding other raw essentials, though. I have no idea where to find raw cacao. I'm going to have to source out some local raw foodists to get some advice on shopping, I think.

But overall, I would say I've been about 90-95% raw, and I am SO excited by the success so far! The next challenge will be to keep this up when I return to work next week (I've been on vacation for the holidays).

So glad that you are doing well and noticing the wonderful difference raw makes quickly. I'd not worry about the steamed veggies either - sounds like a great choice at the restaurant. Have you read "ShelShel's" latest blog? I think it is just so encouraging for those of us who are all or nothing people - I know, for myself, I'd prefer to not be that way but would like to be more balanced and relaxed. Have another great healthy day!

Woo hoo! Glad to hear the raw is working so quickly for you. It's the best reinforcement of what you are doing.
Sorry the waiter was such a pain - unfortunately that happens sometimes, but it sounds like you made the best of the situation. Great attitude!
The Whole Foods by me sells raw cacao - try looking in the aisle where they have hot chocolate and chocolate chips for baking (that's where it is at my store). If you don't see it, ask someone who works there. They made have it somewhere else, or may be willing to order it for you.
