Getting Things In Place- a starter list

Rate this Entry
So once again I'm just laying in bed being lazy. I'm feeling kind of pessimistic today at starting an all raw diet in two days. I know NOTHING about being raw! And yet I feel like I need some challenge, some big change, something to strive for. I'm sure I'll be back to post more later on. I've been attempting to write for like a month or so now, but not much comes out. Lol I'm mentally constipated I guess. Anyway, I thought a step in the right direction would be to list raw foods that I know of in order of things I love to things that I think are alright, to things I don't like right now. It will be interesting to make a list at the end of the month as well.

Love this Stuff:
kiwi
carrots
mandarin oranges
clementine oranges
red grapes
cherries
celery
starfruit
gala apples
plums
fresh pineapple
strawberries
smoothies
peaches
pears
mango

OK /good Stuff:
watermelon
banana
coconut milk
pecans
spinach
turnips
green grapes
celery
honeydew
cantaloupe
raisins
dates
naval oranges
cucumber
black olives
blueberries

DON'T LIKE
peppers
mushrooms
onions

IS THIS EVEN RAW?
yogurt
pickles

Hmm. Ok so the first thing I notice is that I listed a lot of fruit and basically a handful of vegetables. So I'm hoping I find veggies I like too other than carrots, turnips, cucumber, and celery. The next thing that comes to mind is I don't feel SO alienated or like I have nothing to start this with. I have a lot that I can start with, even a starter grocery list that I can start with until I have other things to try. Maybe also making a menu will help especially for that first week so that I know what to expect.

Ok, off to eat some lasagna. Hell, I won't have it again for a month.

I'm really proud of you for making a plan and jumping head first into this! I got your fb message and honestly ... my raw 2009 is a bust so far. I haven't even tried. It started with an entire bottle of wine on New Years Eve, which = hangover, which = greasy comfort food, which = more wine the next night ... you get the picture. Soon, my raw food buddy, soon ...
