Stamping my feet...

Rate this Entry
Some times, usually when I am very tired and feeling overwhelmed (like today), I have those moments where I want to stamp my feet and make a fuss. Of course I would not. Adulthood makes it unacceptable. But today I feel that it would help. The events that brought this on are as follows: I work in customer service for a large corp. This week is customer service appreciation week and they are providing ‘treats’ and snacks each day. Truly I try to be thankful and appreciate what management are giving us. I know they think they are doing a wonderful thing, and the thought is there I know. But ….. they are killing us.

We sit at a desk all day looking at a computer screen. We get two 15 minute breaks and a half hour for lunch (so needless to say we are not active here at all) and for lunch they provide Chinese food from a take away, corn dogs, smoked then fried turkey legs, cookies, cheese, chicken parmesan and cake and ice cream.

Now most people are over the moon at all this food. The plates are being piled high and smiles all round. I am so sad for all these people who see this abuse of their body as a good thing. I just do not understand it.

Even before ‘going raw’ I new the perils of this sort of food. The headaches, the tiredness, the questionable ingredients. But now I am just frustrated and dismayed.

I forgot my lunch so I think this is not helping. I took two bottles of their water (the soda provided out weights the water by far) to make me feel a little better.

I know my initial thoughts were very childish but what I am feeling deep down is sorry, sorry that we think we are TREATING ourselves buy putting this rubbish in our bodies.

These days we need all the help we can get. We need to take care of our temples. We need our strength to get through the rough times coming. We need to be clean and free of toxins. We need to be less of a burden on healthcare and our families. We need to be a vibrant part of the community.
Instead…I am looked at as an oddity. Ungrateful, picky and strange.

Thank you for letting me vent. It does help. I am now off to enjoy my water and some sun dried Mulberries I found in my drawer. I shall walk proudly with my berries in hand and offer them to the masses. Wish me luck
