I have various sources of inspiration. And it always depends on the day, my mood, whatever, as to who it is I'm drawing inspiration from at that particular moment. I thought maybe if I gave you a peek into some of the people that have inspired me and why, it might help you through a particularly rough day to remember who inspires you.
Mother Theresa - Despite all her hardships, she kept an open heart and her love for God and dedicated her life to serving those who are most vulnerable and cannot help themselves.
Ghandi - "You must be the change you wish to see in the world" - Second to anything said in the Bible, that is one of the most powerful quotes ever said. I try to live every day by that, and although it isn't what I'd ever call easy, it is definitely the way to go if you ever wish to leave your mark in this world.
My husband - Despite things going in a completely upside down way from how he had seen his life, our life, going, he has stepped up, done the right thing, and supported us in the hardest of times. Despite adversity, constant lack of sleep, he gets up everyday and serves his country, and our family, with never a complaint. He is a true man, and someone I respect highly and admire greatly.
All of my children, each for their own reasons, and each one has their own powerful and unique reason for inspiring me. But I will share with you why my son who has autism inspires me each and every day. There are several things that we take for granted, and do without thinking, in our everyday lives. The majority of these things are MUCH harder for him. Yet every day, he shows up, tries his best to fit into a world that doesn't even try to understand him (meaning outside of our family and friends). He still has his innocence, and a connection with God that we couldn't even dream of knowing. He has a love that is all encompassing, yet can read someone who doesn't have his best interests at heart. His feelings are pure, whether it be a pure sense of fear, anger, or joy, they come from a very deep, true place. And he is the one who has taught me how to be "in the present", "in the moment", and to just let go. I am truly blessed that God saw me worthy of having him as my son.
Jesus - He is the perfect example of the love, empathy, and compassion that we are supposed to live in everyday towards our fellow man/woman. It's something I think we could all use a reminder of every now and again.
So, that's just some of the "who's" that inspire me every day. I ask again, who inspires you?
