Day 13 - think I over did the carrots ystrdy
Aloha everyone! Whew - last night I didn't really eat 'dinner' I had a few strawberries that were just picked - they were juicy and sweet! but I just couldn't really bring myself to eat anything else. I was so stuffed from my celery and carrot binge yesterday! I'm finding a pattern here - I seem to want to eat more food around 3 or 4 pm... then a lot of times - I'm just not hungry for dinner. Which is fine with me.
When I was eating SAD... dinner was often at 8 or 9pm. My husband is a night owl and no matter how I complained - begged, pleaded or howled - he just likes to eat late at night -- so NOT HEALTHY! I of course want to go to sleep at 9pm or 9:30 so I was going to bed on this full tummy. Also - he is Scilian - so pasta pasta pasta... and StarFire got fatter and fatter and fatter sleeping on that tummy full of pasta!! (he's also a gourmet cook - so he did most of the cooking - and he does make a lot of things other than pasta - and it's all SO delicious - but he doesn't like to share the kitchen!) But now that I'm 100% raw I've been doing all the cooking!! And well - if he's not home by 6pm - I go ahead and eat - cuz a lot of the recipes are quick and easy and I can fix his when he gets home at 7 or whenever!
Then again - I did share with all of you that he kinda fell off the 100% raw - so occassionally he wants to grill some fish or whatever - and I've already eaten so I'm less inclined to give in to that delicious smell of fresh caught Ahi being seared on the grill!!
Funny thing though - he keeps tasting my food and more times then not decides he wants what I'm eating! So that's cool ;) !
Lately I've been concentrating on trying to eat more fruit. While I was on the SAD diet I wasn't eating that much fruit because the natural sugar seemed to 'kick' something into effect and I would start craving candy - sweets and sugary stuff. Which was not normal for me -- I've never eaten a lot of sugary stuff. So I just ate fruit as a treat now and again. Since going 100%raw - I was mostly eating nuts, seeds, greens - pretty much following Alissa's 30 day plan. But I started craving fruit, so I'm just following my body. I keep reading on this website that your body will tell you what it wants... so I'm doing that. Now I'm eating quite a bit of fruit in the mornings and late afternoon. I thought that might have been why I had that major sugar craving the other day - but I am doing okay now.
I also think I satisfied my craving for carrots! It might be a day or so before I'll be wanting to eat another carrot!
This afternoon I plan on having the sweet nori roll up! I'm so excited cuz that sounds delicious!! I have one last avocado, then I'll be waiting again for another one to ripen.
Hey!! I was able to button my pants today!! wooo-hooo!! I've been leaving the top button open on my 501 levis! (and actually - embarressingly enough - they are my HUSBANDS pants that I've been squeeeezing into because I refused to buy anyting larger than a size 14!! So I borrowed a pair of his pants, and he wasn't too pleased! Nor was he pleased that I couldn't button them LOL!! ) So - I did this parade in front of him - 'flaunting' my new found ability to button my pants ... and all he could say was... "yeah great honey - now howz about buying some pants of your OWN??!!"
To which I qickly responded -- "But why?? I'm losing so much weight - it would be a waste of money at this point! I'll buy pants when I have hit my goal weight - or well, maybe at least when I'm a little closer to my goal weight!!";)
