Green Smoothie Day

Rate this Entry
I have decided, I will just have green smoothies today. I haven not been able to keep from snacking my step son's junk food. And it's getting to me, since I feel myself slipping farther and farther. Many more thoughts of just grabbing a sad food cross my mind, and I know that feeling.

But I am not just giving in this time, I really want to stay raw, and I thought, a day of green smoothies might just set me right! It's the day before we are leaving on our trip, and I think, it will be beneficial for that reason as well.

I will take some pictures later, of all the different trail mixes I made.

I've made two green smoothies so far, and one batch is about 16oz glasses full.

The first one was made of:
mango
apple
carrot tops
dandelion
spinach

The second one was made of:
mango
apple
carrot tops
wild clover
sunflower greens

Honey Chile, you know I KNOW what you're going through!!! Just check my blog right under yours!!! I've been on this roller coaster wit ya girl!!! A Green Smoothie Day is Good, if that's truly what you want. It'll keep you full and satisfied, but make sure you drink plenty of water, too. And, don't hang around the kitchen!!! (((HUGS)))

bellamausi--I find that the days I just juice and have fruit or smoothies are days I get the most benefit from my food--psychologically and physically. It means every choice is good, not a choice between good and bad. Hate that dichotomy, anyway! Will you be posting while you're away?

Thanks for the encouragement, Renee! It's always comforting to hear, others are in the same boat as well.

And yes, I will definitely try and post, Emma-Liza! Hopefully, it is not to have to talk about all these non raw foods I"m eating!

I know that feeling. One bite and it comes in waves. Carrot tops in smoothies? I'm ashamed to admit I throw mine in the compost bin. Will try them in a smoothie next time! Have a nice trip! :)

That's so funny - I just bought carrots yesterday and was wondering if I could use the tops in a smoothie. I was actually going to ask that in my blog today, but you've already answered it for me :)
    Have a great trip!
