Well, I'm still enjoying my electricity. I really missed it when it was off!

I'm dreading the winter when the produce isn't as good. I love my fresh fruit and produce, but will I enjoy a cold breakfast when the kitchen is chilly? It should be an interesting transition.

Mack came in this morning covered in burrs! I tried to brush him out but only got some of them. His long hair gets him in so much trouble!

I'm eating one raw apricot kernel a day to get B-17. It's supposed to prevent cancer (if you believe that cancer is a vitamin deficiency disease) but too many of them can be fatal since they have a bit of cyanide in them. The kernels taste good, actually. A bit like almonds.

My knee is much better. I can walk without limping some of the time. Mostly, I have a very slight limp. But long walks are still not possible. I tried the other day and after half a block I knew I'd have to go back. I will keep putting one foot in front of the other, though.

I hope you all have a good day.

Pilgrim, you are doing so well at staying focused and present! You could be wallowing, but you are trying new things and looking forward. I really commend you for that! As to a cold breakfast, you could probably "heat" something in the oven or D if you have one. Soaked, slightly warmed dried fruit comes to mind--prunes, apricots, pears, peaches. Bananas might be really good warm with some pecans on top, or maybe a little almond butter and cinnamon. If you decide to get some raw oats, you could warm oatmeal and almond milk! I'm glad you are getting me to think about this now!

Emma gave you some really great and tasty warm suggestions...........yummmmmmmmm! Yea, we can have warm food if it's not cooked beyond 118 degrees. You are doing so good and with walking. I had a friend who had knee surgery and did not recover as quickly as you have so, I think you are doing great.

Emma-Liza, I haven't had breakfast yet! Your making me very hungry. Pilgrim, you are making excellent progress just doing without the cane. Are you still doing physical therapy or are you on your own with that?

I didn't know that about apricot kernels - very interesting, thanks! Emma-Liza, I was craving oatmeal this morning! How do you know if the oats are raw or not? If you buy the steel cut oatmeal at the store, does it need to specifically say it's raw? Or is it all raw? (I'm guessing not...just wishful thinking)

No physical therapy. I had to do 100 leg lifts a day at first to strengthen the glutes. You can get really good raw oats from Alissa on this site, but I think the ones from the store are steamed.

Hey Pilgrim~I'm so happy that your knee is doing better. We have people that buy apricot kernals at the store I work at - for the very same reason - they told me they tasted very bitter - interesting yours tastes like almonds. Hope you have a great weekend & your kitties stay burr free!~monk~
